Injury Report: Stolarz Stretchered Out Of SBA During Game 1

Everybody did what they were supposed to do here:

Maurice said "no penality on the ice and the ref was right there" and that "the media and Toronto was always going to make Bennett a villain and now here we are".

Bennett said "I was just going to the net on PP, I didn't realize I even hit Stolarz, we are friends"

Berube said "elbow to the head" pressuring NHL and DOPS to react.

Players all said "I didn't see it, but we have to protect our goalies and players better" also pressuring NHL DOPS

NHL DOPS did not issue supplementary discipline for a play with no penalty that or may not have caused an injury. We don't know how hurt Stolarz was, we don't know what play it happened on, he might even be sick or dehydrated.

...it sucks because I think Stolarz got hurt on that play. The best we can hope for is for short leashes on Florida for this type of behavior the rest of this series

I’d dress Reaves, sit him down and outline the objective : end Bennett’s career. The way you do it is up to you.
I would do what they used to do...go and target their goalie as retribution. Tell them every time they "bump" into our goalie we are going to send an expendable player like Holmberg or Jarnkrok barreling into Bob....that would stop the "accidents" pretty quick.

Sam Bennett would get suspended immediately as a Maple Leafs.
Sam Bennett would get suspended retroactively as a member of the Maple Leafs, including this incident, all the way back to his Minor Midget days…….

If we signed him for 5 years, we may get him for the last 10 games of the contract before it expired. He’d be suspended for all the games in between until then.

Has there been any update on Stolarz condition or are we assuming we won’t know until after the playoffs what actually happened?
Apparently he was at breakfast this morning and smiling. Probably plotting his revenge :box:

Can we stop with the vigilante talk? We are here to win a cup not get revenge. The best revenge is to win this series and give Stolie time to get better.

If you just happen to put Barkov's or Tkachuck's face through the glass... CLEANLY.... so be it... the focus and the only focus in game 2 should be to pound the snot out of Florida on the scoreboard... the Panthers already have home ref advantage ... no point in giving them a tied series going back to Sunrise.

The thing that bothers me is when a goalie is in the crease, he is supposed to be untouchable, apparently Bennet has the right to go through the crease.

assume everything is in the cone of silence right now

schrödinger's goalie- to us he's in a quantum state of both healthy and injured until we're able to observe him for ourselves

He’d start his career as leaf like clarkson, 10 gamer right off the rip. What a horrible signing that was lol.

Berube said he hasn’t been ruled out for game 2. So maybe the throwing up wasn’t related to the neck injury. Was also at the facility and no mention of concussion protocol.. so probably good news. Surprised he was at the facility and not in a dark room

I want to tell you all a story. One year Tie Domi brutally elbowed Scott Niedermayer in the head at the end of a playoff game. We were winning the series and playing well.

The devil's decided that retribution was not the answer. Instead they banded together, played absolutely amazing the rest of the series and beat the Leafs.

That hit changed the whole series. Sure we knocked out their best defenseman but because of that the better team showed up with resolve and discipline . And won.

Anyone think Stolarz will be ready for a game 2?
48/72h after a blatant concussion and he´s 100% ready to play? Highly doubt it and that would invite the Panthers to head hunt Stolarz.
We don´t need a Tua Tagovailoa repeat scenario.
Let Stolie rest for a couple of days and game 2. If he´s 100% ready for game 3, it´s his goal to tend.
