Injury Report: Stolarz Stretchered Out Of SBA During Game 1

Remember this play by Tkachuk against Campbell? Not even a penalty. Then the baby yoda loses his mind when Muzzin softly sends a puck his way as he lied on the ice.

This is the type of team the Leafs are playing against, they must not forget this.

Tell me the league wants to protect players heads.

Problem is the Leafs have physical payers, but we don't have greasy players. Players who play on the edge.

All our physical players play an honest game and sometimes it irks me that we don't have players like that sometimes

It's like that Wolverine meme and Kadri.

Let’s chill on being a hero and calling out the medical staff. Concussion symptoms don’t always appear immediately. It can even be days before the first symptoms appear.

I think it’s really easy to criticize from the couch. But you can’t really diagnose a concussion just by looking at someone, they also have to run the baseline test from the beginning of the season and if he fails that you’ve got a good case he’s got a concussion.
That's literally what the concussion spotter's job - observe head contact, monitor for any concussion-like symptoms, and make an assessment.

It only takes 1 of the protocol's 5-defined potential symptoms for a concussion spotter to pull a player out of the game. Last night, Stolarz observed 3 of the 5 criteria.

It's not being a hero. Someone didn't do their job last night.

I hate this shit so much. Please hit them as much as possible.

Beat them in the series. Then file some lawsuits against the league.

Honestly I’ll be happy if we just focus on scoring goals and beat them in 5 games or something. Some revenge would be nice but I also don’t mind just getting out of here as unscathed as possible and not stooping to their level.

The game is supposed to be played honestly and not to invite penalties or decisions that could permanently hurt a player.

Clearly though, players cannot allow themselves to be subject to unreasonable harm or an assault on them or their future health.

Since the league has made their position on head shots known, the players are forced to police the situation. At the very least, the full weight of a player hitting theirs must be felt. This means, Patches, Benoit, McCabe, Knies must check through the player. Clean, hard, heavy.

As a fan we know that...but the problem again becomes what I mentioned in my original post...which is that the guys you mentioned play a honest physical game and I dont think they are going to change up now, even given the circumstances

More importantly they need to be very clumsy, borderline criminally negligibly clumsy in Florida’s crease. After such an emotional game, who can blame them for being a little weak on their skates, knees and elbows a-flailing on a routine netfront scramble?

Meh I don’t think the leafs players really give af. If they did they would have went after Bennett during the game.

I think this actually gives the leafs the upper hand. Refs will probably be a bit more vigilant with Florida’s stuff and call those things more now. Leafs need to remain calm and keep scoring goals. I think they have this series if they focus like they did in periods 1 & 2.

I agree. As fans we are allowed to be loud and upset but by all indications the players and coaching staff continue to be calm and focused. For me that's th biggest difference this year is they seem much more calm and relaxed on and off the ice.

I guess we will have to trust Berube that they'll get their retribution within the confines of the rules and on the score sheet. I'm happy they're playing the reffing PR game though. After Maurice flashed his gang signs in 2023 there was an obvious shift in the way the series was officiated. Put the bum refs and league under a microscope.

As I said, play heavy and hard. Florida are dirty but not tough. There's a big difference. Not one of their players invokes fear.

So, the players I mentioned will play their role. The entire team has to ensure they initiate and pushback against any violence they experience. Play clean, finish checks and ensure the Panthers pay a price for being criminals on the ice.

Thats encouraging, definitely not expecting him to play for a couple of games though. Let Woll have his chance and hopefully he can give Stolarz the time he needs to get to 100%, or even steal the starters role all together. We all know hes capable of it, he's just gotta do it
I wish I shared your optimism. Hopefully the Leafs tighten up the play in front of Will to give him a chance.

I'm done watching this garbage league. Honestly everyone in Toronto should not watch next game, speak with our wallets which is the only thing that bitch Bettman cares about. End the gravy train of our fans dollars propping up this bush league sport.
This happens every season to the Leafs lol. Parros also routinely lets the other team get away with it. This war the first season I didn’t watch a single regular season game in the NHL

I agree. It honestly just seemed like an accident to me.

BUT, I think if a leaf player did the precise same play they would be suspended for like 5 games or something. lol

It's amazing how Bennett regularly injures other players, by "accident".

More like accidental on purpose... he knows what he's doing, and it's naive to think otherwise. That's part of his game, has been for years, and will continue to be...
