The Leafs wont focus on revenge. Anyone who has played for the leafs for at least a few seasons knows the NHL will come down hard on them if they retaliate. The one person who fought back was Kadri and he got suspended. We haven’t seen the Leafs retaliate ever since then.

Now if another team like Florida retaliates - they know they will get away with a slap on the wrist.

That's where Reaves come in. Let them suspend him for 5 games. We only need him for 1. 1 very painful game for Florida. Hell...he only needs 5 mins of the 1st

Dress Reaves for game 2 to absolutely run Bobrosky hard to injure. Take the penalty and send the message we won’t let dirty gutless play go unpunished. The 5 minute major would be tough to take at the start of the game though. In a perfect world they have a 3 goal lead late in game.

The Florida Panthers are a poverty franchise that for rescued by a billionaire so of course you want to stay in the good books. Meanwhile Toronto is owned by Rogers who keeps the NHL afloat with cable contracts. Hmmm.

To do that the big boys would need to step up. Only Nylander did that last night. Matthews even missed an easy empty net goal. He has been invisible so far in the playoffs. Marner is the set up guy and the trigger man has been MIA. Tavares has been a give away machine in the D zone. But all that is fixable and barring any more Panther deliberate attempts to injure (unlikely) the Leafs could prevail if they have enough heathy bodies. The league has really lowering itself to the lowest common denominator. Trying to embrace themselves to the American appetite for violence versus a skill game is both disappointing and pathetic.
