The league wishes to remain in the Dark Ages and it will.

If this were the NFL and a guy did that to a QB, the panel would be livid.

Bennett knows exactly what he is doing. Read the posts in the playoff forum, some expected him to go after Tanav, not Stolarz.

At least the two goalies came out against it otherwise the entire goalie group would have destroyed them.

I would be shocked if he's not suspended for the rest of the series. 100 % intentional hit to the head. The department of player safety takes these things very seriously.

It doesn't matter what the breakdown of what did the damage. What's important is there was intent to do damage. And damage was done.

The only thing is I think the leafs are on the phone right now saying this is twice. They will bring up the Marchand sucker punch and the Knies slam. I think he’s getting 1 game, the fact that he didn’t come out to speak to the media is telling. If it was unintentional, you come out and say I didn’t mean to do it and own it.

He’s probably getting 1 or 2. Too much noise around this one and leafs will/are already calling Parros about this one.

This league barely suspends players for decapitating their heads off. It will likely be nothing, or at most a game.

It will be seen as an oopsie play.

The way I look at this, and this isn't my nature but the scenarios call for it. If the league doesn't care about Vezina calibre goalies haven't their heads protected in Game One of a series than I understand why teams dressed players like Reaves for Game Two 30 years ago.

His objective would have been simple, to be on the ice when Bennett is and to drop the gloves for both the dirty hit on Knies last year that cost him the leave the series and this hit. Do the Leafs have to go Old School when the league doesn't protect the heads of players, especially a goalie?

Reaves will get a 5 and maybe a misconduct. Then he might have to go out and fight him again later in the game just to ensure he receives the message. Reaves will probably get suspended, it is what it is.

Leafs have taken too much abuse and assaults from Chicken Shytes. If the league refuses to police the game,, the teams MUST.

It's 2025. The rest of the professional sports world is 40 years ahead of the NHL. I am glad the refs called the game straight, but they can't ignore these ultra dangerous and deliberate plays.
