That was a nice two-handed death grip that Suzuki had on Carlo's stick when the last play turned up ice, 14 inches from the ref's face.

No mention of Stolarz making a couple of huge saves in OT.
No mention of JT tackling Suziki to prevent another shot and free up the puck.
No mention of Willy setting Mitch up (if it had been the other way around, all we would hear about is Marner carrying the puck up ice, waiting for the player change, drawing both players to him, and making the great pass to set up the easy route to the net for the goal).
No mention that it was 3-on-3 which doesn't happen in the playoffs.
No mention of all the crappy plays earlier in the game.

MARNER SUPER CLUTCH IN THE TOUGH GOING!

And some posters wonder why other posters think he is idolized too much?

I can't believe some people can be so negative after one of the most important wins of the regular season. Jesus man, just enjoy it. It was a great win.

According to Berube, the low-event, defense-first style the Leafs played last night was exactly how he wanted them to play, and it's entirely because they were shorthanded defensively. So the request was that the forwards think defense first, and help the d-men get off quickly to avoid them getting trapped out there by Montreal.

Does Heritage Minute have a single f***ing happy story about Canada???
Cut all their funding, and may their souls rot in hell.

Pay the man in my view.

He is successful only because of goaltending, same way he won a cup.
