For a comedian, its pretty funny his funniest joke is his hockey career. Went from being a okayish backup in Chicago, to being a shitastic starter in Car and out of the NHL.For a guy whose career ended by the Canes trading him to the Panthers for the purpose of buying him out so nobody had to watch him play anymore NHL games, he sure is mouthy.
Didn’t even realize he went into stand-up comedy.
Former NHL goalie Darling finds new career in stand-up comedy
This article talks of how he went to Raleigh and talked about how their city sucks and how he purposely puts on a persona of arrogance so he can “eviscerate” hecklers. So I guess that’s his shtick…
Sounds to me like a new comic that hasn’t grown past the Trimuph the Insult Comic Dog stage yet.
Well, in Chicago, every morning and every evening you do get an extra hour to hour and a half all by yourself in a car, so there is thatCouple of things
1- How the hell did he have a NTC? Ever? He would come crawling here if we offered a contract.
2- Is he aware that the players that come here usually stay, and rave about it?
3- I've asked this of people before, but can anyone explain to me what makes Chicago a better city than St Louis? The L-Train is convenient I guess. It has great food, just like St. Louis. It has high crime, just like St. Louis. Not saying STL is 100x better but how is Chicago any better?
I love St. Louis, but Chicago is a world class city. I’m sorry, but the top end of Chicago (food/shopping/entertainment/etc) is better than anything St. Louis has to offer.Couple of things

I used to think that about Chicago, but then I went to NYC for first time. Chicago only looks great in those areas by comparison to other midwestern cities (Detroit, Cleveland, Indy, etc..).I love St. Louis, but Chicago is a world class city. That said, who the f*** cares about Scott Darling or anything he has to say?
OR you can walk to an El or Metro station and wait on an outdoor train platform and then have that 1 hour in a train. Extra fun when it’s raining or freezing cold outside.Well, in Chicago, every morning and every evening you do get an extra hour to hour and a half all by yourself in a car, so there is that
But they would be a rich man’s version of Milwaukee without the trains. We would’ve been on par with the northeast due to our location. We love shooting ourselves in the foot, don’t we LOL ?
my buddy works in law enforcement for the federal government, he had to take the “company” car every day as he was always on callOR you can walk to an El or Metro station and wait on an outdoor train platform and then have that 1 hour in a train. The Chicago people are doing that thing again. But this time it’s Scott fuc*ing Darling out of all people.

It would require regional leaders with massive jewels to pull that off.We have the opportunity to fix the mistake if we wanted
The St. Louis metro can and should be the central hub for any form of coast-to-coast high speed rail project should such a project get moved forward. The problem is that our local leadership will insist that the hub has to be downtown and they'll never get it to work. Too much NIMBY, too many physical obstacles, too much politicking, and not enough open space to quickly and efficiently accel and de-cel the trains. It will end up somewhere just south of Chicago and we'll miss out on the economic benefit again because we can never get out of our own way. It's what we do.It would require regional leaders with massive jewels to pull that off.
