Weird that we have one of the strongest alumni groups in the league. You’d think with how awful it is everyone would GTFO as soon as they could.

This is just what Chicago sports teams do. They suck at literally every sport, so they do everything they can to draw attention away from actual sporting performance. Such an embarrassment that a huge city with tons of revenue is always shit at every sport.

STL has really cool parts and lots of interesting and fun things to do…if you know where to go. And a lot of parts are a dump, (and dangerous to boot). If you don’t know where to go, especially as an outsider, it’s easy to dump on the city and rely on reputation or first impressions which can easily be unflattering.

Cool being a dick and showing your ignorance though, I guess, Scott Darling. At least Chicago likes you, maybe?

Having just spent 4 days in STL for the first time in a few years, I’ll say that I had a lot of fun. But I was also with someone that knew where to go.

Got to check out the new soccer stadium. Looks like a good place to watch a game.

I've always seen it as sort of cringe to have like an irrational hatred of the city of your rival sports team. When I moved to KC, I was surprised by the amount of people in KC that just hate St. Louis, it gave me little brother vibes about how they hate their bigger brother getting more attention. Just have pride in your city about the stuff that makes it cool and unique. I love St. Louis and KC, but for pretty different reasons, and I think it's pretty cool that Missouri has a couple major cities like that.

Ultimately, he's just pandering to fans in a local pre/post game show, but considering how big Chicago is, it just feels even more weird, like you are the big brother and feel insecure about your little brother being successful.

Last weekend 27 were shot in Chicago. St.Louis may suck but don't act like Chicago is any better.
That's all?

Before I left Chicago in late 2016, we were averaging over 50 per weekend.

Just read a little about Darling. He grew up in the south Chicago burbs.

After living in Chicago for half of my life, I can say with confidence that Chicagoans are total sports homers. Super insecure and the dumbest sports fans ever.

The Bulls championships were glorious, Loved the White Sox win, but the three Hawks Cups were difficult to live through.

Next year, my plan is to move back to the midwest, but not Chicago.

I find it funny that St. Louis has a D1 hockey program and Chicago, who’s been a hockey market for much longer, doesn’t.

They’ll say Anything to take the national heat off the organization.

St. Louis is much older than Chicago and if not for the city leaders stepping on their dicks in the railroad race, they would be an upper Midwestern backwater.

Understandable point, but I'd argue that the Erie Canal was the #1 factor to take STL out of the big picture.

I knew some Welsh/English folks who sailed all the way from Bristol to Chicago. Met them at a bar. All British military veterans with their girlfriends.

Looking at how Darling’s career ended, he would have considered himself lucky to get a PTO by the Blues, let alone be involved in trade talks with them.

Regardless, his stupid opinions don’t mean much, so nothing really to talk about here.

Athletes, as a collective, are some of the dumbest human beings I’ve ever encountered. Even their trivial opinions are meaningless. And on a macro level, why we as a society encourage these people to be more engaged and outspoken on cultural and political matters is mind boggling. Kyrie Irving being a wonderful example as a complete dumbs***

But they would be a rich man’s version of Milwaukee without the trains. We would’ve been on par with the northeast due to our location. We love shooting ourselves in the foot, don’t we LOL ?

Considering he's choosing to spend his life in what appear to be glorified basements across Canada failing at comedy, I don't really value his opinion on... anything.

Insulting cities is apparently his schtick, too:

“Hello, Hamilton,” he greeted the room. “I actually used to play here. I played here, like, a decade ago for the Bulldogs when they were a pro team.”

He paused, then spoke haltingly: “It’s a f–king sh–ty town.”

Wow, such original, edgy, dark, humor.
