Iginla we also forgot. I feel like Iginla JR will be like dad but we will see.
Quite a few of these kids were highly hyped when drafted. So, if we are dismissing people like Kapanen, Griffin Reinhart, Alexander Nylander, Logan Brown, etc. we sort of have to wait for Tij Iginla to prove it in the NHL. Iginla's dad is clearly the best player of the ones we have mentioned so far.

For example, I haven't seen many mentions of Cole Sillinger yet. Who is at least an established NHLer and was a 12th overall pick in 2021.

edit: Oliver Bonk is also a pretty established prospect too, but we need to see him in the NHL to include him in this list.

Sanderson, Greig, Nylander, Kapanen, Jake Leshychyn. Dad’s were all Whalers.

Poulin, Primeau, Nikolishin, Cassels…not all made it. Colin Wilson. Logan Brown?

Avs currently have five guys who’s Dad’s played.

Mostly outside the NHL, but Ryan MacInnis has carved out a nice professional career for himself. His dad Al needs no introduction.

Bob Suter didn't have the same level of professional hockey success as his son Ryan but will always be a legend for winning that gold medal in 1980. Bob's brother and Ryan's uncle Gary had a great NHL career as well!

I was also thinking about the Parise's but senior Parise was in the 70s, even a little before our time.
Speak for yourself.

I turned 30 a bit less than six months before the end of that decade.

I guess I should say eighteen rather than six as technically, that decade ended on December 31, 1980...
