Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.

Fowler is the same age as Schenn, Leddy and Saad. He should be fine for the next 1.5 years. I like the move

Assuming Leddy is out a lot longer, this is fine. Maybe Fowler looks better next to Parayko.

Man why lol? Nothing against Fowler — and the actual trade terms are fine — but this is so silly for a team that is *achem* retooling. And to send down Kessel as a result? That’s a terrible consequence here, he’s been playing well.

Kessel hasn't been good. I was expecting he got sent down (he was only waiver exempt guy at bottom of depth chart) when Leddy returned. But if Leddy ain't coming back anytime soon..

Odd move to spend draft capital for a vet unless Leddy had a major setback and all we’ve heard lately is how close he was. Leddy-Parayko, Broberg-Faulk, Peru-Kessel isn’t ideal but it’s adequate for this year. Monty likes his defenseman to be able to skate and be aggressive so there will be change in personnel to suit his system over time but this team still isn’t close to contending and there is a process that shouldn’t be short circuited. Regardless, will be interesting where Fowler slots.
I don't get it either. Does he fill a hole? Sure. But why waste resources on this team? What's the upside this year? That we eek out a playoff spot and get swept? That we play just well enough to secure that all-important 16th lottery spot? It feels like a Scandella move where we overpay for someone that no one else wants to improve a team that isn't close to a contender?
It's also worth noting that he is signed through next year. None of our D prospects were going to be able to play top 4 minutes next year either.
Army seems to like him, wasn’t there reports of a Fowler Krug swap that was canned because of the Krug injury news?
