Stick wax or No stick wax?

I find it easier to remove waxed tape than unwaxed. The tape rips off as one big piece.

wax...just because it tends to keep my tape in better condition. I use Mr Zoggs and after a fresh job I ask my wife to smell my stick.

I had left some black tape on with wax for half a season(pond hockey stick) it was an easton one. Like you know the first one piece easton composite stick, it was blue anyways lol. I went to peel the tape off and I couldn't get it off with a knife even. So we ended up throwing the stick out because it was pretty much on its last legs anyways.

I also find the tape comes off in larger chucks. No idea why it bonded with the finish on the stick :S

Watched my 12y/o boy tape his stick lately. Noticed he didn't wax it (which he did for a couple of years now) and asked him why. Answer:
The puck doesn't stay as flat on the ice when using wax.
I should mention he's a pretty decent stickhandler.

Used it when i was younger, but as i got older i just disregarded it and let it sit in my bag...I'm perfectly fine with just using a puck

Definitely stick wax. Just tried this new proformance stick wax and its definitely the best wax out there. So easy to roof shots in the upper 90 with the max control wax

Tape job, then puck, then wax, then puck again. Puts a really nice protective layer on it that still nicely grips the stick and keeps ice from accumulating on the blade.

I don't even use blade tape...so using wax would be a bit odd.

I use wax, because the tape job lasts 5x longer... I just use those little tea light candles that my wife has... Each one does about 4 taping a and they cost nothing.

I've never tried wax. Maybe I should because my stickhandling has improved drastically over the last year or so. Last night in warmups I practically had the pucks I was playing around with on a string.

Sunday night Beer Leaguer here and I got in the habit of waxing after each tape job. I feel like it does help keep the snow off and adds a little extra layer of protection for the tape. Cost is moot for me, as I have many bars of Mr. Zoggs that I use for my body board.
