Applying lipstick on a pig isn't going to help. This is a black hole team.

Fire Robitaille!!!

Can't be a black hole team if you're dead last. Rebuild, don't rebuild, but if you're 31st, you've been sucked through the black hole.

I didn't follow the Canucks super closely under Desjardins but he didn't have much to work with with those rosters from what I remember but management was also refusing to blow it up and rebuild with the Sedins still there. Nucks fans did seem to take issue with him overplaying Linden Vey ala Vignault with Tanner Glass.

Any change is good change at this point.
All fan bases hate one guy their coach plays. Impossible to have a roster full of guys you're happy they play and happy with the way they're used. Penguins fans hated Kunitz with Crosby until he scores the series winning goal.

Glad it happen because both sides (players and coaches) were grinding on one another like the end of the Sutter era. Thank You Blake.

PS. Don't ask Doughty who to hire.

Canuck fan. This was the problem in Vancouver. They fluked out the first year and made the playoffs. They didn’t have the horses to play that way and it was a disaster after.

The other big problem with him was he is a terrible tactical coach. Count 1-2-3-4 and there are your tactics. Most games he refused to line match and played everyone equally .. like.. Dorsett the same minutes as the sedins sometimes.

He is stubborn as ****. In the playoffs vs Calgary he would not like match, which lead to Calgary running rough shod

If that's true on the minute front, that will be a welcome change for the Kings. Can't keep playing Doughty/Kopitar into the ground. Other than that I agree he is simply a bridge coach.

Willie D is infamously known for rolling all 4 lines evenly. He also falls in love with certain bottom 6 players. For us, it was Vey and Dorsett. Also if you have any former medicine hat players expect them to be favoured. It's been said, but he didn't have much to work with in Vancouver.

hiring a temporary coach must be just a beginning of the purge. i expect deeper cuts, and soon, both roster and management. then new coach in about 4-6 weeks. it's happening, survival of the fittest.

Playing other guys more is needed but equally sounds bad. I don't know if I want to see Thompson playing 15 minutes a night.

He also has infatuations for 4th liners. He will use them on the first pp unit even if they do nothing
This is great news for Kyle Clifford and Nate Thompson.

They won't be 31st by the end of the season. I will stand by my original assessment. The Kings are a black hole team.

No the Kings won't end up 31st.

They will end up around 80-90 points (black hole). Although they have dug themselves a huge hole to dig out of. One simple change we probably will see is the High f3 come back (Safety valve) Stevens abandoned that for some reason, I guess MOAR SPEEEEEEDDDD. That was causing the Kings to always end up on the wrong side of the puck when they turned it over.

Now, as The Mayor is probably accepting accolades and a bit puffed up....someone make him call on the latest with the impending #formerKing deal.
