With the lightning being quite mediocre by their standards I think it's time for them to make the rational yet emotional choice of trading away Stamkos and using that new found capspace to get much needed depth, IMO getting rid of Stamkos extends their window.
Stamkos stats right now are
Gp(23) G(10) A(14) P(24) +/- (-15) TOI (18:28)
Stamkos contract
1 Year left at 8.5 Million with a NTC and he is 33 years old will turn 34 in February
Assuming Stamkos waives his NTC what do you think the Lightning could get for him, personally I'd target picks and prospects and use that to get some win now players either at the TDL or next off season.
