I would also like to cast a vote for Brad Richards toward the Valeri Kamensky Lack of Effort Award. I can recall 4 goals that were scored against the Rangers this season because Richards failed to backcheck or pick up a man. This bucktoothed loafer, who happens to be tied to an albatross of a contract, better get bought out this off-season. I'll even buy one of his awful untucked shirts if he'd leave.

Just took your suggestion and created this award thread.

Richards is one point short of team leading in points....

McDonagh, as far as Im concerned, is the only player on the entire roster that has delivered for the entire season.

Zuccarello is 2nd for me, although his season this far has been book-ended by 10 games of poor play.

Can you imagine how many points he would have if he put forth some effort? If he had the motor of Ryan Callahan he might actually live up to his awful contract.

Points do not equal effort. Pavel Bure put up multiple 50 goal seasons and couldn't tell you where the defensive zone was, especially once he left Vancouver. He was a goal scoring floater in Florida. A real one trick pony. If Brad Richards had one trick as good as that, I'd take the malaise in the defensive zone, no problem.

I just logged on and saw that. Thank you, I'm honored.

McD is our best player and gives it his all every game. Zucc, however had to overcome more and the guy is feisty as hell. The (2nd?) smallest guy on the ice gets into more scrums than anyone.

What I don't get is that they don't allow anyone to vote for the award that's under 18, because anyone under 18 is too stupid and irresponsible and to protect the sanctity of the award, I guess. But they allow people to vote more than once, so the people that have the most time on their hands will have the upper hand. Just amazing.

I'm annoyed you can't win any of their contests unless you live in the NY area. I WANT FREE STUFF TOO!

No, it's because voting gets you into the sweepstakes, where you usually have to be 18+ to enter.

That raises a couple of questions:

1) Why do you need to be 18 for that?

2) Do you get a better shot if you vote more than 1 time? If so sounds unfair.

1. I'm not sure the reason, but normally all sweepstakes say you need to be 18+.

2. They probably track your IP address. You could vote as often as you want for the award, but you're entered only once in the sweepstakes.

How the heck are they picking people for that BTW? I haven't read anything about it on the website.

Voted MZA. If I won, I'd donate my on prize to a kid from garden of dreams.

I think it's kind of silly to be a grown man on ice getting a game worn when a kid could get it

Pretty sure its just general protection of minors, stuff like information collection, predatory marketing, entering into a contract, etc.

I guess it's good to be an adult. No one "protecting me" from the boogyman and I can actually do what I want to do. Then again I'm 30 in 2 and a half years and when that hits I'd probably want to be a minor again.

One of funniest posts not involving men's figure skating that I've ever seen...
