A lot of guys who don't deserve consideration this year. A short list of those who do. My vote goes to Cuylle who seems determined (without being ruthless) to make his case as a top 6 forward with both scoring and a persistent forecheck. Honorable mention to Sam Carrick who (in the games I saw this year) brought energy every shift. I could see votes for Igor but he has had a down year by his own loft standards (maybe thanks in large part to a shoddy defense). And I'm sure Rempe has a chance to win it but I'm not convinced he is a full-time NHL regular.

Yeah, that's about it. Maybe Brodzinski has an outside shot as well, but everyone else has either played way too inconsistently or hasn't played enough games to warrant consideration. Maybe someone like JTM or Borgen will have a chance at it next year.

If Berard played more games, he would have been a good candidate.

I could see Carrick getting it, even though that's a weaker option than usual.

Cuylle's hit totals make a pretty concrete case for him winning it. And contributing more offense than expected. He seems most likely to win and I don't think anyone would dislike that choice.

I think Cuylle will get it. Both Carrick and JB should get some votes. I'd really like to see them give it to Sam though.

The one player who was better this year than last, and will break the season hits record for the franchise

Any chance Conor McDonald says something about the team's shitty play during the ceremony?

Agree with the Rempe, Cuyllle, Carrick, and Sam picks. The name I voted with was Sam Rosen Should Win or something like that, haha. I did vote for Rempe because he worked on his game so much, and it showed. But Cuylle, Carrick, and Quick are all very deserving.

Cuylle couldn't find the defensive zone with a map, written directions, and a sherpa, but then again, neither could Ryan Callahan, so I guess I'm good with Cuylle.

Might be the first time I ever heard someone criticize Callahan's defensive game. One of the most well rounded players we had in the last two decades.

That's because people blend special teams and even strength play in their long-term memories.

Callahan was a generationally good penalty killer. At 5v5, he was one of the worst defensive players of his era.
