Baseball is a top sports league and they have all sorts of these dumb unwritten respect rules.
This is true. Calling baseball a sport is inaccurate though. It is a fine summertime hobby that fans enjoy to get hammered and eat crappy food.

Giving traditional media this much attention is unfortunate. Regular dogshit media is going out as we speak. Glad that Hughes completely blew his shit off. No one cares about these people or their opinions.

I understand the vibe of what Valiquette is saying and Jack Hughes is definitely on the cocky side of the spectrum but let’s not get baseball level butt hurt over something like this.

Haha, I get it for the first couple drills, but if it’s really „any practice drill“, that’s wild. Unnecessarily limited practice going on if there’s a 2-on-1 drill with the defender taking the pass away and the puck carrier is forced to shoot because a goalie’s dislike for dekes.

I can kind of see it, though. A drill involving a goalie is almost always going to be an unproductive time to go around deking. A 2-on-1 drill is a good example, where the point is to test the forwards’ teamwork against the defender’s skill at taking away passing lanes and space, and give the goalie some practice in squaring up to the shooter and tracking the puck. If the puckhandler starts deking around, he’s kind of wasting everyone else’s time.
