Honestly, what it was was I seen a lot of the canadian and American defenseman picking up points in the first games back. Doughty had a 3 point night, Harley had some points, parayko, and quite a few more.

Maybe it was cause I was looking for them, but it seemed like, at least the first night especially, players picked up some points.
kinda makes sense that there’s a short term advantage for guys who were recently competing at the highest level going against players who just had a 2 week layoff.

Someone like McDavid who has logged heavy minutes all year, year in and year out, good chance he would be playing better if he had the layoff instead.

we were talking goals ....
but move the goal posts is you like.
it's all good

You were talking goals, hence moving the goalposts. That's not what the thread was about. Both goals and assists are considered stats to most people.

When Matthews isn't scoring at 60+ goal pace, goals become very important to you. When Matthews is scoring at 60+ goal pace, assists become very important to you. The Leafs haven't lost a game since the 4 nations faceoff and Matthews is on an 8 game point streak - so you came and said he hasn't scored... which wasn't even true and then you moved them again and again until you found something to criticize.

You went from goals, to goals past a goaltender, to his goal celebration, and then playoff stats in different posts. Also known as moving the goalposts.
