The State of the Bruins is for a certain type of fan and my guess is backlash from phone calls

I like it in September to see folks but I have zero interest listening to the quality of questions that make me feel I live in Carolina not a supposed hockey town

Bingo....We have a winner. Boston is a hockey town. Yet we have Austin Czarnik on the PP on the point.

Sweeney thinks the fan base is stupid. It is simple. He does not care if they win. He Says he cares, but he does not.

If he cared, Austin Czarnick would not be playing the point on our PP, Neither would Tory Krug for that matter. Who is right now the worst PP dman in the game.

When Sweeney fixes this problem, then Bruins fans can say he cares. Until then he is a failure as a general manager. We all know his plan is to miss the playoffs again while he waits for draft picks to mature. I go to 7-10 games a year. I will be spending my money elsewhere this season until the management here spends to the cap and gets us NHL caliber defensemen at the top of our lineup. Seth Jones looked pretty good last night eh ?.

Not a coincidence

Indeed.

I sense foreshadowing -- throwing Cam and Don to the wolves before a possible offseason termination.

This offseason only Cam should go. Give Don one more season. Assuming he does make an impact one way or the other, not status quo.

Problem is they do screen the questions. I sent in a softball question a few years ago and of course they called me and asked to present the question. I ended up not going. I want to send in an easy question, stand up and then ask my real question like "HOW DO YOU GUYS FEEL CHARGING YOUR MOST LOYAL CUSTOMERS FULL PRICE FOR 3 PRESEASON GAMES?"

Last year, Caryn Switaj introduced the general topic of your question, so at best, you run the risk of looking like a real jerk if you bait-and-switch your questions. "Bob from Dorchester has a question about how great some of the trades Cam's been involved in. Bob?" "Yeah, Cam, why haven't you been fired yet, and if you were fired, would that leave you more time to reprise Seabass in Dumb and Dumber 3 instead of reprising Dumb and Dumber alongside Sweeney as an executive?"

I know the Bruins answer to the preseason question: they feel fine because STHs tell them by renewing that it's a good value. While face value on preseason games is ridiculously high, face value on Habs, Hawks, Pens, and Leafs games are all, in theory, ridiculously low. In the words of Alan Thicke, "You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both."

Now, does it really balance out? I'll leave the math to each STH to figure that out - but remember to add in perks like whatever early renewal gift they give in March (if they still do that), and deeply discounted playoff seats. That said, you only add the last if you're financially able to plunk down thousands of dollars for 16 playoff tickets in advance.

The better question to ask would be "Why don't the Bruins tier the face value of tickets for STHs like the Sox do?" Of course, the answer is they don't feel it's necessary to help fans sell on the secondary market, and it's just easier for them to print one price for all 44 games.

For Maria from Watertown's sake I hope Krejci is in a funk. I'm not sure she has a backup rant

The trade deadline they got Seidenberg the Bruins fielded so many irate calls they had to open up the Celtics room off Legends to accommodate disgruntled Bruins fans before the game (Saxon Eric had called me when he heard the deal and first statement was what a great deal. I concurred but didn't realize 80% of Bruins fans had never heard of him and he wasn't Marion Hossa)

Afterwards with everyone gone I asked Cam what hell was that all about. Biggest dumpster Fire I ever saw as nervous and in awe fans shook like wet dogs coming in from the rain as they combined telling Cam how awesome a player he was with telling him getting Seidenberg was a major fail

It was pathetic display

In the end it was actually worth it as my kid got to meet Cam and talk girls hockey with the awesomely cool Cam

You know, not to start rumors, but I did think of one or two other reasons for this meeting. AFAIK, the ASG location for 2017-8 and the 2018 Draft locations haven't been announced. The last ASG in Boston was 1996, and the last Draft was 1999.

Of course, that would probably be the kind of thing ownership would announce alongside Bettman, not a GM/President alone. And it certainly wouldn't be announced in a buried conference where the media would be concentrated at Gillette and too busy retweeting Tom Brady's fake newspaper/advertisement for his brand. A few other things go against Boston: the new "Hubway" or whatever might not be conducive for fanfest-type activities, and we've had two Winter Classics this decade. But JJ is good friends with Bettman, and if we go three years without playoffs, there will be blood.
