Interesting that they waived Gaudette only to keep him up. Seems like they aren't quite sure about him, but don't want to lose him, so waive him now when he's unlikely to get claimed rather than lose him in a month if they choose to send him down.
He did have a pretty good camp and plays center, that might've been a consideration. I think he and McEwen will be swapping in/out depending on who they're playing. Even though McEwen isn't very effective in fights, at least he can answer the bell when playing against those types of teams (hello Canadiens).

This is how a smart GM keeps depth.

Only thing I don’t like is the bottom pairing on D. Other then that the line up looks really good all around.

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Perron-Norris-Bath
Greig-Pinto-Amadio
Gregor-Cousins-Mac
Jenik/Gaudette/Crooker

Sanderson-Zub
Chabot-Jensen
Kleven-JBD
Hamonic/Guenette

Mac should be 13th once Jenik is called back up, I'm guessing that happens within the 1st month.

Well, it suggests they aren't convinced Gaudette will stick for 10 games or 30 days.
I dunno, it felt like they wanted to sneak him though with the other dozens of players and have some flexibility with him and Janek.

It gives us nice options for the year for replacement forwards.

Edit: i think green had him on pp2, right point and might like him there. He has great skill.

Why not? Kleven is big, strong, tough & plays a very good defensive game & can skate & comes from the defensive factory in North Dakota, so does JBD. Both had solid training camps & look much improved, they are not flashy players, they are 3rd piaing solid defensive players which is what Ott needs to reduce the goals against.

Hamonic had 21 pts a couple of yrs ago & also plays a tough defensive game although injuries & age are catching up to him but he's had a decent preseason & they need his toughness & willingness to get into it in scrums to protect his teammates.

Night and day compared to last year. 2 of our top 3 centers weren't in the lineup, our depth was shit, Chychrun or Chabot were playing on their offside, our goaltending was shit... Lol.

Big difference. Excited for the season to start. LFG!
