This season we have to go with the hot goalie. Now right now hank is in a bad/long slump and talbot has been the opposite so we have to go with Talbot. Nobody is saying we are giving up on hank BUT for teh time being we need points so we have to go with the goalie who is peforming at a high level right now

I have no problem with AV riding the hot goalie. But, the ultimate success of this team still rides on Henke's shoulders.
However, Talbot's success is why I don't believe in spending high draft picks on goalies. There are just as many successful goalies that were either late round picks or undrafted free agents, as there are goalies who were 1st round selections.

Been watching hockey for 50 years, the single worst officiated play I've ever seen, if Talbot has the puck covered for 3 seconds and everyone stops skating, blow the ****in' whistle moron, disgraceful, especially in a 1-0 game with 1:21 left...the kid deserved a shutout, Leafs get a gift point they didn't deserve, which may haunt us later in the season...
I agree but why were our guys just stood around? They should play until they hear the whistle too. It's a shame Cam lost his 3rd shutout.
Hank has been aweful, he deserves to sit. Let's see what Talbot can give us for the next month. I still don't get why we had to give Hank that contract now. So his feelings were not hurt! I mean he has been here a while now, only got to one semi final round and was out classed by Marty in that series. How many teams out there have won a cup with their keeper being the highest paid player on the team? If we would have given him 7-7.5 would he have walked for that extra mil.? If so, good, oh well. I guess it doesn't matter now, and Hank has no incentive to play well as he is locked up for the rest of his hockey life.
I couldn't agree with you more. I think slats panicked after that loss to the jets. One thing I always wonder is whether hank is well liked by his teammates. Remember when torts was here, he never ever criticize hank. And hank used to stare at guys who made a mistake defensively. Just wondering..not saying there's any truth to it. Maybe just coincidence that the team plays Bette under cam
Torts didnt criticize Hank because he didnt really deserve it then. Hank carried those teams and when they had good defensive games, we won. Too many people here with no clue
Look I appreciate that you are a bigtime hank fan and I am as well but right now Talbot has outplayed Hank. that doenst mean Talbot is the new starter however we need points right now and talbot gives us the best chance UNTIL Hank gets his confidnece back
Agreed but Hank will be the starter whether Talbot fan boys like it or not. Only in NY can a backup play excellent and fans start questioning Hank because of it.
There are no Talbot fanboys. Nobody said that hank is done. However this year something is going on with hank and he needs to figure it our. meanwhile we need points and Talbot has been the better goalie pretty simple
Ok and once the team falls back down to earth and Talbot loses, what will you complain about then? You know what is a big problem with Hank? Completely new system. Not the only reason, but a big one imo
Um.....im not complaining about Hank. I mean not sure if you read carefully but i said im a big hank fan and have defended him countless times. I simply said Talbot is the hot goalie right now and we need points so we go with him for the TIME BEING. That doesnt mean hank is the backup now.
Thats a bit of a stretch. i agree there are some clowns who dont know much about hockey but the majority has been very fair when it comes to hank. Hank hasnt played well right now. See the difference between us is that even though im a Hank fan I still hold him accountable. For example rick nash and stepan were two of our best players last year and this year they look bad. You play well you get praise but if you play like crap you dont. thats how it works man

You have to understand in the heat of the moment fans say stuff out of anger. That doenst mean its how they feel. Now Hank hanst done himself any favors by playing bad all year and even worse after signing the contract
Look i dont blame everything on hank but sometimes a goalie has to make big saves and he hasnt done much. the dallas game the buffalo game and the first wahsington game were really his best games. All the other games havent been good. Look i respect your loyalty to hank but its ok to be critical of a player if he isnt playign well it doesnt make you a bad fan. Actually its makes you an even better fan if you expect more of a player
Wow..Hank was perfect for the entire torts tenure? Omg..I think you are right..too many people don't have a clue..I also wonder if some people here were disappointed that cam won the last 2 games
