Just watching that period, we have very few defencemen who are natural puck movers. Rielly when he is playing well, but all that others even at their best are not even average, not consistently anyway.

Liljegren not living up to expectations, nor is Brodie. McCabe is hit or miss. I don't have expectations for the other guys.

Our teams strength is the forwards... Who are neutered if you cannot get the puck to them timely, accurately or consistently.

Keefe's system for getting the puck out would suck if the Leafs had 6 great puck movers, and they don't. It's a combination for failure.
Anyone notice that every opponent the Leafs play have at least one guy hugging the boards when the D-men have the puck? Every damned team has figured out the best way to neuter the Leafs' breakout, but Keefe won't change it.

All players make mistakes that one could point to. The end of the day Benoit has surpassed expectations here, giving us consistently solid play for basically league min. In his role, I'm not sure what more he needs to do to win you over.
