In The Crease
Sign him long term and make sure to leave a note in his file for the next GM that he should only be given another long term deal at 28 if he's still playing at an elite level and has mostly avoided injury thus far - don't just automatically give him a retirement contract because he's a fan favorite at the time.

Yeah bridge would be a bad idea with Wyatt and when the extension actually kicks in there is plenty of space. Outside of Seguin none of the bad-ish deals are even still on the books in 2 years.

They had to avoid longterm deals with Otter and Robo because there were too many older longer contracts still on the books . In two years that will no longer be the case and the cap will be much higher

If the Stars offer something like 8 years 70 million thats alot of security to turn down .

I could see Wyatt agreeing to a Seguin type half bridge. Which would be around $8,8mil for 6. (Assuming the cap actually hits the expected 92M)

Hyry is a good signing. Not saying he'll make a breakthrough to the NHL next season, but he can play defensive role too. 31 points in 55 while barely playing on the power play (just over ten minutes overall through the season). Btw he got into PP in the final semi-final game and instantly scored.

This song has became synonymous with him:

Around the same age Kivi was when we signed him . Numbers this years also look kind of similar to Kivis in his last year in Finland

Yup, there is something to be said for security in a sport where your career can be ended in an instant by a dirty hit or akward fall into the boards.
There is, but even a short extension can offer him set for life money. A short extension also sets him to make way more with subsequent extensions.

But I know NHL players seldom do this. They generally go the more conservative route to take the longest term possible.

He would be called up as a black ace if/when Cedar Park gets eliminated. They have no hope without him so he'll be starting out down there for sure.
