I'd be worried about what Tom would do with $9mill in cap space to play with lmao. We know he made big offers to Gaudreau, Stamkos and Marchment.

Meier needs to get his head out of his ass. He's a far superior player to this. We literally cannot afford him to ghost it out there.

Man, nobody gives a shit about them being on the "front foot" anymore, or getting a lot of chances, or winning the xG battle, or whatever other stupid metric that does everything except measure actual goals scored. These guys have no choice but to generate a shit ton of chances - if they didn't they'd probably be the absolute worst scoring team in the league. This is a poorly constructed forward group - extremely top heavy, and even then not a single guy who has stellar finishing/shooting ability.

Yes, I’m aware, and do not care one bit. If you think that game should be lumped in with the ever expanding stretch of “playing bad” that you like to reference, then that’s your prerogative.

One of the guys that can’t finish on this poorly constructed team has scored 40 goals in a season. The defenseman that can’t score has put in 22.

We are out scoring the opposition 36 to 18 with Timo Meier on the ice. I believe we can pick up the pieces and handle icing this terrible player. He’s not finishing well this season. Hope he gets hot for the playoffs. We know he can get hot — what happened at the end of last season?

I pray you're right. I really think he's actually the key to this team.

Everyone else is who they are. He gets hot, they will win. He doesn't, they won't.

We aren't getting anything from Haula/Kotter/Tatar/Bastian/Mercer/Palat/Noesen. There's no hope there.

There's always another excuse, I'd swear I was watching the MSG telecast when I read this board sometimes...tomorrow the excuse will be good teams have off games, or they were unlucky, the goalie stood on his head or someone gets injured in the second period. It's always something with this group and most of us are tired of it, they were piss poor last year and have been piss poor since Christmas this year. With the supposed talent in this group, there's zero excuse to have this much trouble scoring on a consistent basis.

Lots of players can get hot for a small time - this is a particularly meaningless thing when it happens after the season has already been lost as was the case last year.

We are on year 3 of the Meier experiment and aside from maybe a couple of isolated moments, he hasn’t brought what we expected overall.

If you look at his play on a regular basis, it’s pretty evident he’s not a dynamic player and doesn’t have the hockey IQ you’d expect. On top of not scoring anywhere near the amount we need him to.

The broadcast team will tell us it’s just that Nashville are a good team when they’re on, who just had a huge win over Colorado last night. And they’re a veteran team with a lot of cup winners and playoff MVP’s and they’ll make you pay when they’re on their game lol.
