Columbus is winning, so yea, just a shit night. Couldn't win, couldn't take advantage of the Canes losing, and the Jackets are gonna inch closer to that last spot in the division with a game in hand.

The fact that all the teams behind us are shit is the only reason I'm not less confident of us making the playoffs.

We could still coast (I wouldn't bet on it though) and still get in because those other teams f***in suck balls.
Don't look at the Jackets. They're up 3-1 right now in the third on the Hawks.

And honestly, just because Noesen started off good and is effective on the PP, does not mean he needs to be in the top 6.

Think Carolina had done something right by recognizing this and perhaps Keefe and staff have been fooled by a hot start. Our depth is not great as well so that could be part of the equation.

Some here are NEVER wrong, regardless. It's clearly evident. ;)

Can we go back to the bye weeks again?

At least I actually got laid.

Now I turn down those opportunities to stay home and watch this shitty hockey team lose to some shit team.

I know, that didn't happen tonight. Dallas isn't a shitty team.

But tell me you can't see this exact game happening tomorrow night in Nashville? Just like it happened in Buffalo before the break and also sort of happened against Philly in one of those losses fairly recently, though I think they quickly got the two goal lead back on us.

Honestly, they probably shouldn't catch us, because I just don't think they have the horses. But if they get on another heater they can, provided we stay at this 80 or so point pace since Christmas, which I think would put us around 88-90 points by game 82.

I didn't run those numbers, so I could be off on that.

Deserved nothing. Had a number of practices coming back and still stunk in the first 10 minutes. Timo and mercer are horrible wastes of money
You don’t watch the game well. They were on the front foot at the start of the game too. Dallas scored on their first bit of o zone time and then were gifted a ridiculous PP.

3rd line is killing us.

Their 3rd goal highlight is some real putrid watching. Back breaking, puke worthy stuff. Duchene just waltzes in and picks his spot.

Back breaking stuff after all the goodwill that Hughes and Dougie had managed to build. Momentum was all ours.

Bleh, what a shit game.

I already think I can guess the production notes for tomorrow night

''You can't take Nashville lightly! There's a lot of skill and winning on this team! They're coming off a HUGGGEEEEE win over Colorado last night! Look how many cups and playoff MVP's they have over on this team! Stamkos, Marchessault, O'Reilly! Saros is arguably the best goalie in the league when he's on! In MY estimation! This is a veteran team and they'll make ya pay!''.

Man, nobody gives a shit about them being on the "front foot" anymore, or getting a lot of chances, or winning the xG battle, or whatever other stupid metric that does everything except measure actual goals scored. These guys have no choice but to generate a shit ton of chances - if they didn't they'd probably be the absolute worst scoring team in the league. This is a poorly constructed forward group - extremely top heavy, and even then not a single guy who has stellar finishing/shooting ability.

THEE metric that has meaning.

Hughes, Hischier, Bratt and Markstrom get us in.

I just don't expect the hero hockey to get us anywhere in the playoffs. The rest of the team need to step the f*** up and earn their pay.
This has been the Bruins blueprint for the last 3-4 years. They win 70 games a year with one line and good goaltending and then get bounced in the playoffs as soon as they aren't facing Toronto.

I don't think I've ever seen a player who has the puck on his stick as much as Meier but still manages to do so little with it.

Like, where do we even go from here when this guy is considered a part of the core?
We are out scoring the opposition 36 to 18 with Timo Meier on the ice. I believe we can pick up the pieces and handle icing this terrible player. He’s not finishing well this season. Hope he gets hot for the playoffs. We know he can get hot — what happened at the end of last season?
