Honestly, this is probably gonna be my steamiest take EVER in the history of these forums.

But I’m almost fine with punting this season, because I don’t think I really trust Gerry Fitzgerald Ford to ice a contender here. And he’s gone if we miss the playoffs, because the chants will be uglier than anything you’ve seen in the season finale.

I’m just afraid we’re gonna get someone we don’t want as the GM.

I’ve been feeling this for a long time.

I wouldn't go higher then. Aggressive shouldn't mean desperate.

I wouldn’t go higher than that either. People can shit on Mercer all they want and obviously the team gets better upgrading from Mercer to Rantanen for the rest of this season but it’s still nowhere near enough. This team needs to add at least a quality top 6er and another quality top 9 guy. Not swap out one guy for a better guy. That doesn’t fix us.

I’m going full on DD Conte levels of Fitz hatred at this point.

I dont even know how to fix it mid season. Even if you somehow upgrade 3C, you'd still have 2/3 of Palat/Mercer/Noesen playing top 6 minutes. All while the cap is super tight.

Best bet is that Marky goes crazy mode cause good goalie can mask any other issues.
