I thought the whole time it was just Nico missing, and not that this OVERRATED general manager (another one of the brilliant minds who works for Team USA) built a team with mediocre forward depth and scoring.

This team is playing like a lottery team without a first round draft pick. They don't deserve to make the playoffs.
They have a good solid young core. They aren't a contender yet. Be sellers at the deadline. Kovy, Tatar, any other UFA. Save the second round picks and use them in off-season to upgrade bottom six scorers.

If this team can't make the playoffs this year, then SOMEBODY ELSE better be selling at the deadline.

I've kind of been mentally preparing for that reality, seemed absolutely insane at the start of the 2025 calendar year that this team might be fighting for a wild card spot in March but that's the way this is going.

To be fair, I don't think they should have known Haula was gonna be DONE before the halfway point and add nothing. That's one guy that you thought you were gonna get 35-40 points out of.
