If Stan was taken in the 3rd or 4th round the expectations around him would have been much different from the fan base. I wonder if the org would have also treated him differently?
I’ve thought of this as well. He would still be a 6/7 tweener and likely still a NHler. But would he still be with the Jets or a victim of the waiver wire. Funny thing is if we had lost him on waivers he likely gets a lot more love around here and endless posts on how we lost him for nothing.

Yea I think he might carry more Jets fan value cast in the the jilted X role.

Ask Kova and Chisholm if draft position means more than performance... Stan would have been waived 2 years ago if he wasn't a first rounder
Or they kept him long enough to learn something from the veterans, since the Jets are a mentorship team now. It's too bad he never got to play with Buff, other than TC, like Chiarot did. I'd like an intelligent media person to ask him about that experience.

If they wanted to trade him, scratching him every night would not help that cause. I think he certainly looks serviceable and im sure theres plenty of teams that would jump at the opportunity to get a 6'7 3rd pair d man. I'm more inclined to think that Arniel see's what we see.

I understand the motivation to have a 6’7 intimidating dman in the lineup when the Jets have 3 smaller dmen (Morrissey, Pionk and DeMelo) also in the lineup. No doubt the Jets love larger more physical dmen.

But the more I watch Big Stan, the more I wonder if this is a bit of a lost cause. The more he plays, the more his warts show. If the Jets can find a big physical LH dman who can skate and move the puck, and is paid similarly to Stan, I’m not sure how long Big Stan sticks around.
