Leafs fans think the coach of every other team is a whiner. It's a rite of spring. Cooper, Maurice, whoever is coaching the Bruins, now Travis Green. The reality is that every coach of every team tends to speak out if they think it can give them an advantage. No big deal.
Remember how much praise Keefe got when he called the Lightning "brilliant" for conning the referees so well?

All coaches play that game.

What's strange about Green is that the Sens have led the league in powerplays in each of the last 3 seasons, by significant margin. You would think Green and the Sens would want this sort of whistle, and not a stingy one where no penalties are called.

I think Green probably knows that he doesn't have a lot of levers to pull in this series given the talent and experience imbalance.

Robertson is faster than Patches but that's about the only thing we lose by swapping them. It's his own fault, two bad high-stick penalties because he lacked discipline and control. Maybe Pacioretty looks like crap and Robertson comes back in for game four but I don't see much downside to adding a large, heavy, big-hitting menace with a scoring touch to this team right now.

Patches also plays a cycle game well, much better than Robertson can.

Patches for Nick Bobby makes sense. Kampf still injured then?
Nah, think Berube just isn't a fan. He loves Holmberg and realistically that's the only guy you'd take out for Kampf at this point, as Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok have a good thing going that he's not gonna mess with, and Domi just scored a heroic OT winner. Maybe McMann, but McMann is a big body with speed who scored 20 goals, you want to give him some more rope.

Both this and Green being a whiner can be true.

To do after one game though, it seemed desperate. It might have worked for him since the Leafs only had one PP in game two. I would hope the refs wouldnt bend the knee but...

Stollie took care of Grieg himself. Surprised at Greig not taking a few swipes back at Stollie and getting a minor for getting one in the back, two slashes and a bodycheck that sent him flying. Sens remind me of Dubas' Leafs who were kept to the perimeter and pushed around with little pushback.

Don't see you around game times.........Whats up?
Got dates?

Sens remind me of Sens of 2000s. A lot of up coming young players with skills with a lot of fake toughness
Stollie and Leafs needs to focus on the game. I didn't like 2nd period at all

I am still waiting for Matthews to have one good game where he just takes over the game.

Is Pacioretty with McMann and Domi?

That is a very big and strong line tbh

That's a line that really worries me. Domi isn't exactly a very good center
Thats the line I suspect Green is going to match against for Stutle line. Domi can be very careless with the puck and Patch is just slow

It makes sense to put in Patches now. If we are going to lose a game, it's this one. Patches is a vet, thus less mistakes. This game will be close and the hardest one yet. We can't afford mistakes or errors. Ottawa 3 Toronto 2.

Got to say Stolarz has been great! Wasnt sure if he'd carry it into the playoffs but he has. Also surprised that he took over over Woll.

If Green's strategy is to throw the Pinto/Greig/Amadio line at Matthews, if I'm Berube I say bring it on. In fact, get ahead of it and start Matthews first knowing Green will put out Pinto.

What better way to send a message that you don't care who they throw at your best line then to invite it. Also I would imagine it puts confidence in the Matthews line (assuming they find some success) instead of spending the whole game trying to protect them by avoiding the matchup.

Regardless, I'm perfectly fine then having JT & Willie line up against the Cozens line most of the night. The only bad matchup then will be Stutzle out against Domi, which Berube is going to have to deal with somehow.

I enjoy the Leaf players attitude during interviews, an aura of "strictly business". They aren't happy being up 2-0, they are focused which is good so I hope it translates on the ice tonight.
