Special teams and goaltending differential have absolutely killed the Leafs during the Matthews era and I don't remember the love fest for their 5v5 play happening the way the media is slobbering over the Sens. It's kinda embarassing.

Leafs have outscored the Sens 5-2 5v5 so far. The previous 4 playoffs combined, the Leafs outscored opponants 58-56 5v5 with Campbell and Samsonov vs. Price, Vasy, Bob and Swayman. When the Leafs were down in those series, I never once heard the panels glazing them over how much better they looked 5v5. Bias and cope is off the charts.

Agreed.

It is a false narrative. The media need to have something to talk about. The 5v5 numbers have been shown in various threads here and it does not speak to any kind of Ottawa domination.

Bingo! Ottawa hasn't been dominant at 5-on-5, at all. They're just getting empty calorie shots that aren't dangerous (in the 3rd period of game 2 they couldn't even muster that). And yes they're getting some time in the Leafs' zone, but they just straight up don't have the talent to do anything with it.

Ottawa has been a toothless opponent so far, and that won't change. They don't have a chance of winning even a single game unless they can hold the Leafs to only one or two goals. And with Ullmark playing like an AHL starter, that won't happen either.

It's from Steve Simmons, that explains everything and only confirms that it's a bunch of bologna.
You sound like a Sens fan. Take the loss and move on. Neither of us know for sure. But I also don't believe Simmons would make that up for no reason. Don't care anyway. Just passing along what I read.

I think Nicky coming out was pretty obvious.

I thought they might have gone with Kampf. Hopefully Patches comes in hungry and lays some of those bone crusing hits... and actually makes it through the game.
I have a fear of putting patches in, why?

First 16 games: 16 GP - 9 Points, 46 Point Pace
Last 21 games: 21GP - 4 points, 16 Point Pace

He started hot, but then tapered off HARD, and that following an injury. Playoff pace of play is more intense, and sure I think he will be charged up, but can we really expect that much from him other than hitting and body play? Not to mention the third line is the same defensively as before.

Honestly this would be a non-issue if Bobby McMann wasn't a ghost, he NEEDS to contribute big time soon.

Time for the core to have a big first period tonight. Time to demoralize the living crap out of these scumbags.

Very good job lol f*** no. I supported the JT signing, I appreciate McCabe, I appreciate him listening to Wes Clark and drafting Knies, and I liked the Muzzin trade when it was made, and I liked the ROR acquisition. The rest was all complete and utter dogshit.
This is what really broke me on him.
Pick 13 was ours but traded it, recoups the pick and I get hindsight but we needed dman not skilled forward and 16/17 have both been good young dman already.

You don't pick by need. Rodion could easily have been a 60 point guy... can you imagine adding a 60 point guy to our top six right now? It was tragic what happened to him, but utterly ridiculous to blame Dubas for what happened here.

Season ticket holders ate up about 13k tickets from what I am told. The other 5k went to pre-sale and public sale.

I know a few sth who bought extra for freinds and family, but they were told they were NOT allowed to resell. Not sure how that was managed on the Sens side.

Anyway, prices will come down on those as game time hits.

I expect 70-30 Sens-Leafs fans breakdown tonight.

if the Leafs win tonight, it might get up to 50% Leafs Nation on Saturday night! Hope it works out that way.
STHs ate up more than 13k from what I've heard, and the number that actually hit general sale was slightly over 1000 tickets.

And the Sens can't manage reselling - if someone wants to put those tickets up on Ticketmaster, they can. And they have been. I know the Sens dictated the minimum price of those tickets on resale (can't recall how much), but other than that they have no control.

Go Leafs Go!!!
Prefer Robertson over Patches, but really, how much of a difference will it make?
We will see.
I predict we win a close one.
Our stars will play like stars tonight!!!!!

LOL Green is such a whiner, I thought Cooper was annoying but this guy is on a whole other level. Complained about officiating in game 1 then claims we had too many men on the ice for OT.
Leafs fans think the coach of every other team is a whiner. It's a rite of spring. Cooper, Maurice, whoever is coaching the Bruins, now Travis Green. The reality is that every coach of every team tends to speak out if they think it can give them an advantage. No big deal.

He's claiming we had too many men on the ice for OT

Cooper wasn't a whiner, just an arrogant prick

I don't recall anyone having an issue with Cassidy or Montgomery

Definitely don't blame him for Amirov, but the there is also trading a first to get rid of Marleau. Could've had Jarvis or Holloway..

Coop also whined about too many men on the Kadri OT goal. That being said, Green just comes off as immature more than anything else, still has a lot to learn.

Green better hope his team ties up the series in Ottawa, because the excuse will really fly if they return to TO in the red.
