I expect Ottawa to come out a lot harder tonight. We embarrassed them on Sunday. That said, if the team plays a patient game, I like our chances.

I think people are overlooking the fact the Leafs did not play their best game, not even close... they didn't have to. They capitalized on the dumb penalties the Sens took and rode it out to the end - they still put in an honest effort.
I feel, if called upon, the team can be better... I have no idea if they will be, but I believe they can be.
Guess we're about to find out.

The Sens had plenty of great scoring chances, especially in the second period.
Stolarz had to make a few brilliant saves.
Playoffs are all about small margins - a slight drop off from the Leafs combined with a slight uptick from the Sens, and tonight could be very, very different compared to G1.
Need to stay dialed in. Hope the building brings the same energy. Game 1 was as loud as I've heard that barn in a very, very long time.

Leafs didn't embarrass them, they embarrassed themselves. Pee Wee hockey night in Canada where losing causes whining and taking cheap shots at players, often when they are defenseless.

I am expecting a lot of clenched butt cheeks tonight, while we are being hemmed in, but we are kind of used to it now, just gotta score, and than watch the shot blocking machine go to work lol

I get the love for the Tkachuks but lets not act like Matthew has been this playoff star his full career.
He had 5pts in his first 15 games and only 15pts in 20 games over 4 playoffs with the Flames and considered a poor playoff performer until he became a Panther.
yea I cant remember what year but we were playing Boston in a series, and Boston got away with everything in that game, and the leafs lost, the next game they called it much tighter and we won because we got a lot of PP's.

We put them down 2-0 early and they're a green playoff team who's never even been to the dance, they did a bunch of stupid shit trying to get back in the game and thus they got a bunch of penalties. It's happened to the Leafs many of f***ing times in the past too.
How are people getting this buthurt over the officiating if it's not screwing Toronto over? We needed this kind of outcry during the Boston series.
The narrative has always been that Leafs fans whine too much about the reffing and have a pathetic victim complex. Still true or????

The amount of attention this is drawing is f***ing hilarious. Where were these morons criticizing the officiating when the Leafs routinely got the shit end of the stick in Boston? Anybody remember game 2 of 2019? Still salty as f*** about that game and series.

This is a big game for me to see what this team is about. We know Ottawa is coming hard, and normally we don't match after a big win, let's see the maturity of a team with an eye on the prize.
That game still pisses me off.
It is quite literally the worst officiated game I have ever seen, across any sport. NFL/NBA/NHL.
I watched the Toronto Raptors play against Lebron's Cavaliers in the playoffs and watched the Cavs go 48 consecutive minutes (over 2 games) without getting called for a defensive foul.
And that game 2 vs Boston was infinitely worse.
This isn't the classic Leafs
It's going to be a test for sure, game 1 was nice. Now that the pressure is on, Ottawa is gonna regroup and come out HARD, can they match their energy and win game 2 ?
Leafs teams of the past would crumble, I don't think that's going to happen with this group. But an absolutely pivotal game. Going up 2-0, I don't think Ottawa can win 4/5 games.
