He may have old balls, but still appears to be putting up decent numbers. What is the cost of bringing Stamkos to LA ?

We need offense and the Preds appear to be struggling, is he available?

Would The Preds be interested in established players or only futures?

Perhaps something based on Fiala+ or Moore + or Danault+ to help us balance books?

I wouldn’t touch that contact even if he came cheap. No thanks.

Actually, there are probably 3 relevant answers here:

1. Stamkos has the NMC and I don't imagine he's ready to waive it. Even for LA? But who knows. Seems unlikely just 6 months later though.

2. Us Preds fans... hell yeah, we'd GIVE you Stamkos. For free. If you want to give us anything back, so much the better! Especially young players or futures! But heck, even Cap-balancing assets with shorter term might be worth a look.

3. Barry Trotz... hell no... Stamkos is a franchise superstar, core to our Cup hopes, and totally unavailable.

That’s exactly what the kings need, another old fossil that’s gonna be stunted in the system we play. Tampa let go of him because he’s not good defensively, is getting older, and cost a ton.

He would eventually be put on the fourth line in LA just like Kaliyev was and the only advantage he would have is once he screwed up, he would be put right back out there because he’s a veteran and not benched like a young player. He would be given linemates like Trevor Lewis, and given no creativity.

The best thing for LA to do is to let go of the coaching stuff, and all the management and start fresh building around the young guys

LA would just put stamkos in front of the net on PP2 and feed Trevor Lewis offside onetimers until they benched Stamkos for nonperformance

Please ignore @Porter Stoutheart he's still grieving over the Saros signing last summer.

No, we absolutely would not give Stamkos away. Even if we don't manage to unf*** ourselves in the next couple of years, having Stamkos on the team for our youngsters to play with and emulate is valuable. With the projected cap for the next three years that was just released his cap hit(and Saros) are a total non issue.

The only way we trade Stamkos is if he asks. And I can't see that after less than one season

Ok, apparently there is ONE Preds fan out there who would not give Stamkos away. Besides Barry Trotz. Who knew. :dunno:
