has there ever been a jersey introduction for any team, not just the Kings, that hasn't been met with near-universal derision? 
I have to laugh at people campaigning for the Burger King jersey, perhaps the ugliest jersey in professional sports history, then trashing a potential new design as terrible...

I'm prepared to be underwhelmed. Will this new jersey also not be for sale like the purple Reebok 3rd jersey or will the Kings try to trick the fans into buying CCM jerseys again?

I tend to stick with KingsVision's jersey teaser just because... it's KingsVision, and not the mayor. Also, the Burger King jersey had the Chevy logo on the shoulder pads IIRC (which would make sense to replicate on the hat). The Mayor mock-up doesn't have the Chevy logo anywhere.

Only way that Mayor Manor mockup could be worse is if the skates were white as well, like the Golden Seals waaay back.

A little off-topic but does us getting outdoor games two years in a row mean we are the main draw the in California hockey? I mean, why wasn't it Anaheim-SJ instead?

I'm sure those two have something to do with it but it just seems like we are the most important CA franchise, Cups or not. The league didn't do **** to promote CA hockey after the Ducks won it.

LA is the third largest city in North America. No one gives a crap about Anaheim or San Jose. Couple that with the Kings recent dominance.
The Kings have 23 years on the Sharks and 26 years on the Ducks.
Of course they are the most important California franchise.

Icethetics is more or less confirming what Mayors Manor has already said minus the white shorts. Personally I don't mind the jersey at all. I think they'll look sharp on the ice. I would have like to have seen the old chevy logo used in some way but I like what the Kings are doing in trying different styles of jerseys for these stadium series games.
I think 3rd jerseys should be something different from the norm of the team. You have the Devils who just flat out refused to do anything different for their jerseys or you have the Hawks and Penguins who just keep rebooting old jerseys in some fashion for their 3rds. It would have been cool to see a newish logo like last stadium series or a change up of the chevy logo but at the end of the day it's something different then what we see 82+ games a year so that's cool to me.

Quick mockup of the supposed designs.
1. No way. The Burger King jersey was a colossal piece of ****, absolutely. It would take something radically ****ed-up to surpass that excrement of cloth.
2. A number of people commented at icethetics on the homogeneous nature of the design for both teams, which is so much more obvious this season than last (chrome logo, etc.). I think the uniforms themselves aren't all that bad (not that great, either), but with both teams exhibiting the same template tutone design it's probably not going to look so good on TV. IMO.

I'd buy a Burger King jersey, I won't be buying this jersey. I'd buy the purple Reebok 3rd jersey but they won't release it to the public. I wonder who the Kings are marketing to?
