To a certain extent they are but we are watching the same kind of thing we have seen for multiple coaches, now GM’s.
At some point we have to admit that maybe it’s not the coach, maybe it’s the players and the construction of the common denominator (core)
Give 'em a few more years, a few more tens of millions of dollars and a chance to play for a few more coaches. They'll eventually figure out just like WSH did, we're well on track to win the cup when Matthews is 33 years old or thereabouts. ;)

So far in this thread we've turned on our starting goalie coming into the year, the coaching staff, our core, Tanev, and probably more. The cause? 2 losses in a row in October lol
4-4 record, offense and defense lpoking bleak, not much help on the way

Concerning how this team can be so bad after a the big tampa win

Winning the division & conference which was Key for us seems tougher now if this type of play extends to game 12-13 of the year

Truly great teams don’t need excuses. We aren’t there

It’s early for both good and bad. Truth may be that we end up on either end

But I’m tired of acting like this team is any different than it has been for decades

Truly great teams never have 2 games of poor effort in a row, especially early in a season? Can you list examples of teams that never had 2 poor efforts in a row?

He's 37, was always slow and is like 230lbs

He was actually pretty quick and always allowed him to get into good hitting positions. This year and most of last it’s like he could line anyone up because someone else gets to covering them faster

I said great teams don’t need excuses at the volume this team apparently does. It’s always something to minimize their poor performance. I don’t think there’s a team with more to prove than this one and yet here they are

Leaf fans already back down to earth?

Guys, it's been eight years with this core, did you really believe it was the coach that caused them to choke and not be able to play a playoff type game?

It's way to early to determine but if history is any indication, well, what's the definition of insanity again?
