Of course, makes sense...Price is only 33-1-3 in the last two yrs on a saturday...

They just travelled from Colorado to Arizona to Montreal in the past few days, makes sense to give Price an extra day of rest and a game vs. Boston who he's always played well against.

Montoya hasn't given up a goal in 2.5 games at home, don't see any issue with him in net.

You have a back 2 back, 1 game vs. the opposing conference and the other vs. a divisional team...

Isn't it coaching 101 to play your number 1 vs the divisional team..

I think this start was already decided long ago. Seems to me MT and his staff plan the starts months in advance.

Price tonight or Price tomorrow dont see the big difference. Al and Price were going to each play a game doesnt really matter which one got which ever game.

Why is everybody talking about the 5 day break as if its a good thing for their game?

They have had two similar breaks this season.

4 days off before Sharks game. Where they wrre trounced. Another horrible effort.

All star break. Beat Buffalo then lost season high 4 games , including shut out for 145 minutes. Goose eggs against Oilers, and Aves.

Players may welcome the physical rest (and a break from therrien for sure) But as far as the team taking advantage of it in the win column. The prior breaks do not show that at all. In fact they show the opposite.

What will be a result of the break.... Other teams move closer by a few points.

They may actually be worse. Because this one is an actual break. You can bet there are more than a few players who after the Boston game are flying out to Bahamas, Cuba and other warm places for 3 or 4 days. No practice. Nada.

We'll see who comes back with a tan.

A real Tan, and not that Therrien tan that we all know...;)

Blues are on a high. This won't be easy, especially with Flynn at 1LW to 'snipe' one in on Radu's feed. Plus Montoya is in net, it's like flipping a coin in terms of how good or bad he is on a given night... the odds are a bit stacked against us here.

Last time Brian Flynn last minute replaced Pacioretty on the first line he scored 2 goals against Ottawa in playoff

Might as well try Mac on a top line if you're serious about Flynn on the first line Michel.

Flynn would be such a weird move. My guess is Patch will tough it up and play.

Yakupov wears 64, so I guess he's not playing. Weird, he always does well against the Habs. I wanted to see him play because I wish Bergevin would acquire him.

- They had 3 days off in between the Sharks game.. they also bounced back the next day and beat Washington
- Weber and Price (our two guys who need breaks the most, were both at the all star game)

Before the 3 day break before the Sharks' game they played only 6 games in 13 days, before this break we'll have played 7 games in 11 days with a lot of travelling involved. That is a lot of hockey and a lot of the key players could use some rest.

Ok fans get real here. This is a mediocre top six as it is .Pacioretty is a game time decision. At least Desharnais is not back in.
Last game the bright spots were the first line and the fourth line. Now that the best forward on the team is possibly out the only bright spot left is the 4th line, what remains of the first line and the possiblity that Gallagher returning soon. This is a very sad lineup requiring surgery to add size and scoring to the forward group. And a long break to rest our number 1 goalie(in terms of the Habs).

Makes sense.

Meh, I don't see the rush. We've got a nice break coming up. Might as well give him the extra healing time.

Me too. He & Galchenyuk are two players who should take the break to work on their games & conditioning. Both have been out long term.

Guys like Weber, Price, Pacioretty, Radulov & Danault should just rest over the break. Hopefully, come back better and rested.

I don't see any reason to play Gally one game & then break, although Fla did it with both Huberdeau & Barkov.
