Here's Pronman's write-up, if anyone is interested:

29. Jimmy Snuggerud, RW, Usa U-18 (NTDP)

Jun. 1, 2004 | 6′ 1.25″ | 186 pounds | Shoots right

Tier: Projected middle of the lineup player

Skating: Below NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: NHL average
Compete: NHL average
Shot: Above NHL average

Player comparable: Tanner Pearson

Background: Snuggerud was a top-six forward for the U.S. NTDP this season and one of the most improved players on the program from the previous season. He’s committed to Minnesota.

Analysis: Snuggerud’s a talented winger who can be dangerous with the puck on his stick. He has one-on-one skill, good vision, and his best asset is his shot. He is a long-range shooting threat with a one-timer you can build a power-play unit around. Snuggerud has good size, competes well and is responsible defensively. The only issue is he has heavy feet which could impede him as he advances levels. The rest of his game is strong enough though that I think he could be a top-nine forward.

Do we not get that today's NHL is about speed?

Like the name, but hate that everyone is describing him as Bluesy. We do best when we don't draft Bluesy guys. Tarasenko, Kyrou, Fabbri (pre-injury), Thomas, none were big grindy types. I don't know much about him though, so I am reserving judgement.
Really agree with this, I think we have enough of “Bluesy” type players. How about some higher skill type players, Yurov, maybe. Hope it works out though.

Rule #1 of NHL drafting:

Never draft from High School programs. Chicago never learned this apparently.

On the other hand, player on the rise going into the draft - like those players.
Wasn’t Oshie a riser going into the draft as well? Don’t know a ton about Snuggerud, but I can’t help but think of Oshie when I read about him.

Snuggerud is a lot like Bolduc when you read the scouting reports, just RW.

Not a fan of taking a winger with our 1st three drafts in a row and if we did I wanted Ohgren or Yurov(f*** you Minnesota eh). Pickering went to Pittsburgh and the other D I wanted was Chesley.

Not liking the comments about Snuggerud's skating. And there are a few of them.
Okay, he’s not a bad skater. It not being a strength of his doesn’t mean he’s a bad skater. He’s not going to skate circles around players. But he will develop it to be at least NHL average.

Man I have no idea what Chicago is doing. Seems like they could have comfortably gotten Rinzel tomorrow.

But they got the pick by taking on Mrazek and giving up a tomorrow pick. They might have wanted Mrzaek. At worst cap is zero problem for them with their tank. So why not gurantee you get the guy you want?

I think they are doing exactly like someone said earlier. They are racing forward to be first in line for Conner Bedard. The question is where will Patrick Kane go?

im not worried about his skating, he keeps improving and its gotten better imo

just dont think he had exciting upside, but is a really solid pick

after bicshel was picked, i was kind of thinking he’d be a good option

It's not so much grindy, it's we value smarts and hockey sense, don't like super small forwards. I'd argue that Tank was Bluesy and guy like Kostin wasn't. Fabbri had everything we like but on edge with size. Schwartz and Thomas are prototypical, smart player, sneaky skill.
