They didn't play that bad. Could have won all three of these games - last second losses to Colorado and Dallas, third period blow vs Vegas.

The Blues aren't that far off their game. Should be okay.

If the Blues were to lose in round 1, where would they pick? I guess, what is the highest the Blues can pick this year? I haven't seen that cleared up anywhere.

1-15th are known, except for 1st OA (6pm EST lottery tonight for this pick).

16-24th are assigned by reverse standings amongst teams eliminated in the first round traditionally aren't they?

If this holds true, the Blues would draft 23rd if Boston also bows out in the first round and 24th if Boston moves on. Though I haven't looked to see if there will be a deviation from the norm this year.

More recently, it was the teams that got eliminated in the first TWO rounds that were ordered 16-27 based on regular season win percentage. At this point, if that is still how they plan on doing it for the 2020 draft, the earliest we could pick would be 26. If Boston makes it at least as far as the ECF, then we will be drafting no earlier than 27.

Ignore the scores and rewatch those games. The Blues were badly outplayed, even when they were lucky enough to get leads. Those scores are deceptively close. The play was a lot less close. In none of the 3 games was it a surprise when the opponent came back.

Dropping to 4th does make a pretty big impact on their draft position if they get eliminated in the 1-2nd round. So there is that

No impact at all. Draft order for teams eliminated in the first two rounds is still based on regular season results.

Oh damn that sucks and makes no sense. If they are keeping the draft order based on the regular season then the top 4 in each conference should have been seeded the way it ended.

What happens if, let's say, the 7:30 game in Edmonton goes into quadruple overtime or something nutty like that... would they start the late game at like 1am? Would they postpone it?

Surely there is a protocol for this, I've just never seen it discussed...

The earlier game is at 4:30 tomorrow. Looks like they already factored in potential long OT games. This CBJ game is in second OT now. Next game scheduled to start in a little more than an hour. They’ll need to give other teams time to get changed and out of there though

Looks like the scheduled Boston vs Carolina game got moved to tommorow because the Tampa Columbus game ran so long.

Ha. Talk about timing.

That was a crazy game yesterday... wow. Normally I pull for the underdog, but I have to root for Shatty and Maroon.

Would have loved to see CBJ sweep TBL again.

However I think CBJ will bounce back easier than TBL would if they had lost. (And CBJ is currently leading game 2, 2-1.... They sure got TBL's number it looks like.)

If Vegas sweeps, will we get better start times, assuming the Blues are still playing?

My thoughts after Game 3:

- Berube made some pretty gutsy moves. Starting Allen may have been more obvious. I think the back to back made it an easy decision. I assume Steen is not fully healthy. But putting Kyrou in for Tarasenko was a very gutsy call. They announced Sundqvist in that lineup spot, but I’m sure the plan was to slide Kyrou up which is exactly what they did.

- Allen made the saves he needed to make. Markstrom and Allen both played well. For a guy who has played ONE GAME since March. That was a hell of an effort when his team needed it. I expect we’ll see Binnington again this post-season, but Allen earned the next start. Hopefully he can play out this series.

- The defensive pairings are not gelled. Maybe they can get there. Scandella and Parayko got crossed with miscommunication to give up that tying goal.

- Faulk is getting more assertive. He didn’t play a perfect game, and he can still be victimized in the Blues zone. But the Blues need a guy who can move the puck around like this.

- I think that OT win was actually two wins. I think the Canucks are a little young and it may show tomorrow. I expect them to have a little bit of a hangover and the Blues to win a methodical game tying up the series.

We seem to have found our postseason intensity. If we can clean up our miscues and get special teams going we might actually hang around for a while.

It is absolutely batty that we’ve been stuck with 4/5 games starting at 9:30.... How do we keep getting the crap times like this? Are they only calculating in start times for people in Vancouver?

We had ONE 5:30pm start time and it was on a damn Friday! Every game that has been on a weeknight or a Sunday has been and, so far, will be 9:30. WTF.
