Hayes is to the Greyhounds what Robertson is to the Petes lolNice to see another Hayes in the organization
You think we're adding five 08 defensemen to a defensive group that ostensibly has all 6 spots already filled? I think not.I am assuming all of Croskery, Pangretisch, Ashcroft, Allen, Kyriacou are coming. Raftis said this:
“We got a great mix of guys that have a great chance of being good OHL players,” Greyhounds general manager Kyle Raftis said. “It was that mix of where we were picking and what we were trying to place. We had that luxury that we were returning a lot of young guys. We have some ‘08’s coming in. You could take that extra pace with (the 2025 picks). It’s a good spot to take guys where we wanted them. You didn’t have to step up to take guys.”
We might even see two imports selected in the draft.

Greyhounds avoid reaching for picks in latest OHL draft
Among the players selected by the team on day two were the brother of current Greyhounds forward Travis Hayeswww.sootoday.com
If holub isn't coming back that's one spot, Carlisle is 2. Everyone loves bmb but he's too slow and repeatedly got exposed during the last series. I'd rather that spot go to an 08.You think we're adding five 08 defensemen to a defensive group that ostensibly has all 6 spots already filled? I think not.
Croskery makes a lot of sense on the left side with Evans. I could see us adding 2 more after that if we let Holub go and don't sign any of the 09 defensemen.
The real competition is going to be at forward, especially if we add 2 imports and a third OA.
Locks are: Mignosa, Cloutier, Martin, Hayes, Smith, Charron, Andrew, Smith, Laus, and Kaczynski. You add an import, an OA, and perhaps Daley or another youngster, and that's already 13.
That leaves guys like Hilton, Muxlow, Brown, and Vader perhaps without a spot. It's certainly a better position than last year, where we adding waiver claims and dealing picks for depth pieces.
It wasn't at all clear that you were talking about tryouts. I can definitely see any of our draft picks coming to camp.Yes, I can see all 5 08 D coming to tryouts and us signing 3 of them.
We might only run with 2 x OA this year, if we bring in an import goalie. Otherwise we might use that OA spot on a goalie. I don't think Daley comes this year.
Certainly need a goalie for the next two years. I would think next year would be the start of trying to contend. Miller will not cut it.It wasn't at all clear that you were talking about tryouts. I can definitely see any of our draft picks coming to camp.
If I had to bet, I'd say that we don't add a goalie, but it's certainly a possibility. I think we're going to use all of the OA spots and I think we're going to see some trades to move out guys for picks. Brodie McConnell Barker, Charlie Hilton, and Christopher Brown stand out as candidates for me.

The blank spots are what I see as our biggest needs and where we should probably allocate some of our import picks and OA spots. I think second line centre is a particularly vital spot to address. A healthy 20 goal scorer there last year would have won us a minimum of 5 more games last season. Andrew and Brady R Smith got absolutely slaughtered defensively at that position.
I should clarify that I wasn't criticizing either of those young players, particularly Andrew. Being asked to play a new position as a rookie is extraordinarily difficult and neither should have been put in that position.Certainly need a goalie for the next two years. I would think next year would be the start of trying to contend. Miller will not cut it.
I am keeping Hilton imo. Need size and toughness to protect our first line, and in the playoffs.
I can’t see anyone jumping on Brown.. BMB would hopefully fetch a mid to low round pick, perhaps a tad bit higher than the Connor Toms deal. Vader does not make the team next year imo.. If a lot of the 08’s and 09’s report.
As for Andrew and Brady R, it was both their first year in the league, and they were tasked to play in and out of the top 6. Of course they would get outmanned defensively. Need to give them more time to age and adapt to their role. But you have reason, centre is definitely an area of need, I’m not sure if either of them can handle it consistently yet.

Brady T. Smith will get regular playing time, of course. We're about 7 deep at RW, so I'm just not exactly sure how they will set up the lines. Mignosa played LW after the trade deadline, but even he's a natural RW.couple things:
1- they will do everything they can to get a better goalie
2- there is no way a first round 08 we traded for who played every playoff game will be on the 5th line.
I think we see Andrew step into the middle nexr year again.Brady T. Smith will get regular playing time, of course. We're about 7 deep at RW, so I'm just not exactly sure how they will set up the lines. Mignosa played LW after the trade deadline, but even he's a natural RW.
We'll see about the goalie situation. Tegelaar had other good options and didn't sign to be a stopgap like Thomas. I think there's a strong chance that some fans will be disappointed/surprised if the right players don't fall to us in the import draft.
