This is the type of season that you accept for what it is and enjoy watching the kids develop.
Getting your manties in a bunch after every loss and blaming goalies, or refs, or coaching etc. is just silly.

These results ARE what this team is. A playoff bubble team hoping for a few elite players in the 2025 draft.
After a go for it year, what did everyone expect? You're right, just enjoy watching these kids play. Let them grow together and go for a long run in 2 years. I fully expected an 8th place finish this year.

Have a good draft and build for 2027.

Is there a curse on this team. Coach Dean always talks about playing a full 60 yet every game seems to yield the SAME result! We cannot play a full team or we CANNOT hold on to any type of lead. Recently we were up 5-1, 4-1 and 2-0 and we cannot earn 2 points. Who is to blame for these frustrating results? Is it time to have a change in behind the bench? What are your thoughts?

A great deal of it is goaltending. I'm not saying we have been good in the last period by any means, but some key saves would be helpful now and then.

A change behind the bench doesn't change the team on the ice. We're young, defensively soft, and mentally fragile. But that's what we were always going to be, especially post-deadline.

I know that nobody likes losing but at some point you have to see the forest for the trees and acknowledge we aren't underperforming, we're just not very good!

Idk, we really don't have much structure. Dump and chase and trap defense is hard to watch. Under Bannister, even when we didn't have the best teams, we were much better with less talent. As always, just my opinion.

That's fair criticism, as a fan I despise trap hockey. I don't watch enough this year to know what systems theyre running regularly and I'm shocked to hear a hounds team is dumping pucks and playing the trap consistently. But if that's what they've resorted to, is it a reflection of a level of skill that isnt conducive to possessing the puck? I love the skilled game, but can also see why it might not work with a roster where the best players are only 17.

At least you're not blaming the goalie on a 48 shot night lol

Idk ehat the problem is man lol,

This team looks to have talent. They're young, but they seem to be fairly talented. I think if they had a set of systems in place, they'd do much better. We literally are fighting to get the puck back all the time because we dump the puck in and let them break out. With no pressure lol. I'm just a fan of having systems in place. Sometimes you don't have to be the most talented if your systems work well. But you need to have something other than dump and chase by this level.

personally i would rather have the hounds not make the playoffs if they have to squeak in
and finish 8th. I know the argument being playoff hockey will give this young team experience,
however finishing 8th and having to face London in first round will be a short 4 game series
with London winning i predict each game by at least 4 goals.
If they finish out of the playoffs they have a shot at 1st overall pick. I believe it's still a lottery
for the final 4 teams out of the playoffs. ( i could be wrong ) a top 4 pick in the OHL draft
will bring the greyhounds another impact player into the fold.

Imo I'd rather them get some playoff experience. There doesn't seem to be a real generational talent this year, rather 3 to 7 pretty good that could be interchangeable after the top 2.

Just my opinion
