SSM Greyhounds 2024-25 Season Thread, Part II

Ya there's a little bit of a traffic jam in the Eastern standings although imo Niagara, Sudbury and Brantford may fall in the 2nd half of the season.

Barrie, Oshawa, and Kingston are all strong teams that made a splash at the deadline.

Is Landon Miller signed by the Red Wings?
I think next season (2025/2026) will be his last year with the Hounds, unless he doesn't sign with the Wings and can return as an OA the following year (2026/2027)?

Good effort tonight. We're a faster team than Kitchener and we were forcing a lot of neutral zone turnovers in the first half of the game. It was a glimpse of what this team will be next year. The loss of Allard really shows what he means to this team. His elite, elite defensive play is so important.

Lalonde lost focus at the end of the 2nd and had a really bad third period, but then was brilliant in overtime and in the shootout. Unfortunately, that inconsistency has been the story of his career, like we also saw in the Kingston game.

At the very least, we showed that we can compete against a pretty likely playoff opponent.

Couldn't watch but looks like another stellar night for some of our elite 2007s.

45 shots against and we're still talking about the goalie? I'm sure it wasn't his best night, but you're going to lose more games than you win letting that much rubber hit your goalie.

An idea I think that should be floated in all leagues. The top seed should always have the 1st 4 home games at home. 4 in a row. They earned it !

Edit, 1st 4 games at home.

all four Kitchener goals were redirected shots or passes

Yeah but they were objectively the best tips anyone has ever seen. Ever. Right? Case closed.

I think you could objectively say the rangers were aware that the young-ish hounds D could not effectively cover players going to the net.
One of the re-directed goals was off a ranger’s chest where the shot appeared to be missing the net by a few feet. I will try harder in the future to ignore the elite-elite hounds skaters were let down by goaltending.

what's up with the camera guy, made me dizzy , I had to go lay down.
The Kingston game in Soo a few weeks ago was like that. Had so many people texting me asking what was wrong with the camera person. It's like they were a kid with camcorder and just learned how to use the new zoom feature. Just stop zooming in and out constantly. Leave it zoomed out so people can see the whole play. Every faceoff zoomed into the center's skates and then all the way out after puck drop and then directly to the player with the puck. It was painful. Ok. It's a volunteer. Someone tell the volunteer to just stop zooming.
