He will benefit most under Coach Barney and Staff more than other situation. Should he come to the Wolfers….

C’mon, geez

Blonda and picks for him should work

I would be shocked if you’re buyers though and musty still on the team Jan 11th.

Junior hockey though never impossible

Blonda and picks for Nordh? One of us is not really following the thread.

Yeah, I think the hounds should prioritize an ‘08.
I've been going back and forth lol. Having an 07 to grow with our strong crop of 07s or an 08 for a year after? I'm not sure still haha. If griffin plays an oa year I think I'd rather have him.
Just my opinion tho, and not sure it's the popular one

Allard had an absolutely fantastic game today. I couldn't even count how many turnovers he forced. Charlie was really good as well. If any teams were on the fence about a trade then they certainly put on a good showing.

I don't think that's in the cards, but I could see an 07 forward and a couple of picks.

Here's an idea of what we're looking at next season, as we approach the deadline. The rumours that we are going for a pair of centres in Smith and Griffin make a lot of sense. The rumours of Mignosa/Cloutier being shopped also makes some sense, given our strength at RW (Hayes is also a natural RW).

Were we to make that kind of deal and have a guy like Croskery show up, we would be in an extremely advantageous position, with 2 OA spots, 2 first round picks, and a high import pick to use.

Hayes - Martin - Cloutier (OA)
Smith - ? - Mignosa (OA)
Hilton - Brown - Andrew
Muxlow - Vader - Charron

Evans - Solomon
McConnell-Barker - Reid
? - Holub (Import)
Gillen

Miller
Thomas
Tegelaar (?)

Here's a hypothetical on what we could have next year.

OA LW - Martin - Cloutier (OA)
Import LW - Griffin - Hayes
Smith - Smith - Andrew
Hilton - 1st rounder - Charron
Muxlow, Brown, Vader

OA LD - Solomon
Evans - Reid
Brodie - Holub
1st rounder - Gillen
(Croskery?)

Miller
Tegelaar

Pretty much that entire team outside of the OA fill-ins and Cloutier would return for the next season in a potential Memorial Cup run.

Generals updates seems to be pointing towards Smith plus picks from Oshawa for Gibson while Griffin would be part of a deal for Romani. Nothing confirmed.

I’ve heard that Romani deal doesn’t include Smith or Griffin, but that’s been put out there on HFboards by others already

Good news for any fan that still had lingering doubts about us selling off veterans for younger assets.

Also, a really important game tonight if we want to stay with division rivals Flint and Saginaw in the standings. We don't really want to get 8th and play London, but 6 and 7 are in play.

Now he is one of the best PK players in the league and for that reason won’t be traded. Becoming a Fan Favourite in the Suds.

Man are we going to miss Charlie if he goes. Props to Gillen there standing up to Sima! Been loving him and Holub back there recently. They are developing quite nicely as the bottom pairing.

Lol, what?

"Asked if his club figures to be a seller prior to next Friday’s (12 noon) deadline, Hounds general manager Kyle Raftis was noncommittal."

Why would anyone have lingering doubts?

Read the rest of the article. The context of the entire thing is about selling vets for younger players and picks.

There did come a point when the GM used the words “younger talent,” offering a window into what he would be seeking prior to the deadline.

Without using the word ‘seller,’ his thought process was obvious.

“We have about a week left to see if there are potentially any fits to add younger talent to our roster,” he said. “These are players we’d want to work with over the next half a season and in the years moving forward.”

I can only speak for myself but I'll stop worrying when deals are made and I see some good returns coming in.

And the closer to the deadline we get, the more tense things will become if things aren't happening.

Yep. Seeing is believing.

With young players the primary, publicly-stated target, then ‘We weren’t able to make a suitable deal’ for youthful targets would be an easy out.

Not saying that’s how it’ll go down, but I sense a Raftis reluctance to sell is very much there.

It was probably easier to make Spock laugh.

It's rumoured that a couple of deals are already done, but things are strangely quiet across the whole league. With as many as 13 of 20 teams buying, the prices should be very nice for us. I've never seen that happen before.
