100% lol - if everyone is mad, it's a fair trade.
Can’t react the mods took away my privileges but if I could I’d love this lol

in my opinion it was only ever going to be a east team adding Gibson.

I still think it’s Kingston or Oshawa
I agree. I’d lean towards Oshawa probably since they have smith and griffin is more expendable than Hopkins I think. But with Kingston they have a crap ton of draft picks to use along with Williamson.

But from my understanding because I’ve mentioned this before- doesn’t sound like you would want an 06 d man?

And someone suggested an 06 forward which is when I mentioned about Brampton- they could give up karmiris and a ton of picks if needed.

Think it’s one of those 3 teams for sure I’d be shocked otherwise

an 06?
Soo would be targeting an 08 or very good 07 such as Hopkins.

I swear someone suggested an 06 top OA for your go for it year could work too and it wasn’t me. Might’ve been dirty12 but not 100% sure

08 or 07 yes makes more sense but with the fronts they don’t have an 08. Only Hopkins and he’s safe. Brampton has no 08 or good 07’s. Oshawa has Brady smith which again- I’ll say it again, Oshawa is the clear front runner with him and griffin on the market potentially but less picks.

I mentioned 06 forwards being a point of weakness for us. (Brown, Hilton, Vader). And possibly in a Nordh trade, but not in a Gibson trade. For Gibson we'd be targeting 07 or 08 and picks like Schmo said.

The Soo
OA's are something that can be addressed at the deadline of a "Go for it" season imo. What's crucial is to have your 07/08 core "elite" status before the contending season even starts, with a war chest of picks stockpiled for trades to compliment/upgrade that core. It should be an exciting few weeks for hounds fans between the World Jr's and subsequent trade window.

If that’s what Cam Allen gets….. holy I can’t wait to see the return on Gibson…View attachment 946850
Jenken is a really nice addition. We can put to bed the idea that this is a buyer's market like some people had hoped. It's a strong seller's market. The only reason a smart guy like Mark Hunter would 'overpay' early is that he feels the market will get even hotter for sellers.

Could even out if it is indeed a 2 part trade like I read on the knights board. If the second part is lacking, then we know why and could still be a buyers market.

Let's hope it's not tho haha.

No contender is trading away an 06 who will be a top OA.
Though I agree with you, we did last year. Connor Clattenburg. It was more a "what if" not very likely scenario. I think somebody mentioned an 06 being an option, I said it could be possible. Even though I don't think that's what the Greyhounds are targeting

Clattenburg won't be a top OA next year. It's like the year we traded away Boudreau and Holmes. None of those guys were top OAs. If they were going to be a top OA, then by their 18 year old season you would already see their value and a contender wouldn't trade them. IMO.

They very well might play in the league as an OA, but not a top, impact, OA that a contender would be seeking.

Couple extra picks going forward for you guys, probably not a great consolation prize though...

Cali not signing is probably a win for us in terms of value, since we get another pick next year.

From a team building perspective, it's not ideal, as a pair of 09 first rounders won't really fit into our window.

Can always trade 1 if needed
