Congrats to Gibby on being named to World Junior camp roster! This will be his last weekend in a Hounds uniform for sure.

With camp starting December 10th, you are right. I believe we already watched him play his last game in the Soo. Make us proud at the WJC!

The Soo
it should have been a 2 minute penalty, and that's it.
but the fact it was late, in a dangerous spot in relation to the boards, and not a "hockey play" likely led to the severity of call/suspension.

i'm sticking to my guns in saying brady has to be smarter than that with <30 seconds left in a tie game. whether it was a 2, a 5, or lifetime ban from hockey is irrelevant. it was a late hit away from the play, he saw a guy admiring his pass and he steamrolled him with an uneccessary hit and it cost us the game.

Basic interference is worse than spitting on players and striking fans with your stick. Got it.

I agree, Savard. Guo should honestly be expelled from the league. The NHL suspends guys for entire seasons for the same act and he's done it twice now.

rumour : porter martone will commit to university of michigan if not in the nhl next season.
rumour: michael missa will commit to boston college if not in the nhl next season.
will we see the ohl as a 2 year league for top prospects and a 4 or 5 year league for others.
ohl general managers need to be aware of this, top players may choose the ncaa route and
receive $$$ prior to making there nhl debut's when the nhl team that drafts them see's
them to be ready for the top league in the world.
what do they call it in college football nowadays ( NIL ) i believe same thing will happen with
hockey.

NIL won’t happen for non-US citizens on a school visa

The Soo
Just a guess but probably the "Game Misc-Abuse of Off" at the end of the game on Saturday?

Perhaps that and the comments to the media afterwards?

He attacked the league for not having OHL refs here, and criticized the NOJHL calibre refs we ended up with?

Certainly didn't hold back hahaha

Hit 1.5 seconds after play? 3 games. You see more malicious plays on a nightly basis. Also as a development league.. maybe get them ready for the next level? Just an idea.
I actually got the stopwatch out and timed the hit 3 times. I got .45-.55 seconds each time. I don't think it was anywhere near 1.5 seconds.

I can just stop it on my video software and see the exact time. When I think he makes contact it's 0.57 seconds, but it could be a bit earlier or later.

It's something we see regularly in games and it isn't penalized, but I wouldn't have had a problem with a minor penalty.
