The players that vote to stay say repeatedly that they don't believe Gi-hun when he says he's played before.

I just watched the episode in which they vote for the first time and what motivates them to continue playing is that Gi-hun having played and won before will give them an advantage in the remaining games. It definitely felt like a plot hole that he didn't offer his winnings.
