Spurgeon is worth more than Scandella at this point. I would throw Brodin's and Dumba's name in the hat, if we can get a better return for one of them.

Personally, I don't think we are going to get an impact, first line player back in return, only a potential first line player, which is not the same thing at all. Otherwise, you're looking at second line player....Wild have plenty of them.

I think the Hall for Larsson trade was a unique situation, and will be hard to replicate.

i'm pretty stupidly enamored with the big character guy who needs work draft picks (Gabriel, Bulmer) but I think Greenway can be that guy. He's got a lot of time to put in yet between NCAA and Iowa but he has shown strong progression so far. And as such I think he's one of the strongest NHL viable assets we have now that EK looks like he's made it.

I'm not entirely sure on that. Would suck to lose Spurgeon and Greenway for a guy who might not work out based on prior experience.

So... do you think if Tyler Johnson had a PTO with the Wild this year, they'd have released him? He has quite obviously gotten better at hockey since the Wild released him..

I really don't know. No clue where he'd fit in the current lineup, #2RW maybe, or 3C? For ~$1m he'd be worth a shot, $3.33m cap hit they couldn't afford him.

BB wants a bigger more physical team, so his size might not be wanted by the coach.

You don't think its possible he may have improved slightly since then?

I'm just not in love with him. Call it a hunch or bias or whatever you want.
+Larkin? :naughty:
Isn't Nylander a RW? Seems like decent value.
Don't even bother asking. Been down that road a hundred times.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Brandon Davidson for Spurgeon and Haula. JEE has cemented himself as a regular on the roster, making Haula a little more expendable than he was last season.

New lines for MIN:

Parise-RNH-Coyle
Niederreiter-Koivu-Granlund
Pulkkinen-Staal-Pominville
Zucker-JEE-Stewart
Dalpe

Suter-Dumba
Scandella-Brodin

And Edmonton:

Lucic-McDavid-Eberle
Maroon-Draisaitl-Puljujarvi
Pouliot-Haula-Kassian
Lander-Letestu-Pitlick
Slepyshev

Girgensons for Scandella

In what world is this an equal trade? If Wild are going to trade for a forward they need a forward who scores. The world is full bottom sixers who don't.

Scandella scored more points than him last year, and he's a defensive Dman!
