contending teams often have multiple elite impending FAs.
Like I said examples where a contending team had free agents the calibre of Bautista and EE.

Can't eliminate an injured player from the depth a GM assembled.

Does Jaso have dreadlocks? d'fuq
You most certainly can when said GM doesn't replace said injured pitcher for six months.
At this point I see Sanchez in rotation. Floyd and Chavez in pen. And process of elimination and because of an option remaining Hutch to Buffalo
no, that's silly.
how would Shapiro replace Stroman right now?
Royals had Cueto and Gordon as FAs this year.
It's actually harder to find contenders who don't have impending impact FAs.
Royals weren't going to re-sign Cueto, kinda like the Jays with Price. The Royals were also lowballing Gordon as late as December by offering a 4 year deal at 12-13mm AAV. He ultimately got a 4/72 deal with a 23m option attached. Some may say Gordon still gave the Royals a hometown discount, something Bautista has said he will not do.
These two are not comparable to a 34 y/o DH and 36 y/o RF.
Hutchison,Chavez,Floyd. All three better then 2015 Sanchez.
yep, poor shapiro is stuck in the unprecedented situation of having key impending free agents.
this has never happened to anyone else, just poor shapiro.
