OT - NO POLITICS Spring has sprung

I made these back in March and they are finally ready to put a food safe clear glaze on them next week and put them back in the kiln for their final firing (sets and seals the piece). I carved the designs into the clay and then used underglaze to paint them. The color will be slightly deeper and glossy once they are completely done.

So, My daughter is flying in (from San Fran) to visit for Mother's Day. Her plane was due to land in Boston at around 10:15 pm. There are not enough air controllers so the plane coming into San Fran is flying around in circles and cannot land. She now is due into Boston at 11 pm. Hopefully they can take off.

We are spending a couple of days on the Cape. Tonight, we are staying somewhere south of Boston. Tomorrow we will be on the beach (but I believe rain is expected).

It will be nice to see my kid!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend together and that the rain stays away. It is lovely that she comes home for Mother's Day.

That is crazy about the plane not being able to land.

So the old washing machine I inherited when I moved into this place has decided to constantly drip water in the tub when not in use. Any idea if something like that is an easy fix? It works fine other than that but I can't have it dripping all the time.

Check the connections on the back, see if any hoses are dripping from there. If all the connections are dry, then check any filters the machine has(consult your manual) and see if they need to be cleaned/unclogged. If they are not clogged, you are going to have to crack the machine open and see if it's a hose seal or not, which will take a handyman.

If your machine is around 10 years old, then you should start saving/looking for a new one.

My 2 cents.

Yeah, I'm tempted to just buy a new one. I suspect this one is ancient. It's an Inglis and I understand they were bought by Whirlpool a long time ago

If machine is otherwise working then it could be the water inlet valve. Have a handyman or repair person look at it as it should be an easy fix to replace the valve.

I had this problem, one thing that you can try is to turn the washer dial to rinse and let some water in, then turn the dial to spin to get rid of the water that you just let in. Sometimes that little burst of water coming in is enough to get the inlet valve to close. You'll probably still need to replace the valve but this could stop the drip while you figure out the repair.

Just got to our hotel on the beach. My daughter surprised me with a beachfront room. It is cloudy here but tomorrow's supposed to be better. We are just hanging out in our room listening to the waves. We skipped lunch but will go for an early dinner
Have fun! Happy Mother’s Day! Glad Amanda came home for the weekend.
