OT - NO POLITICS Spring has sprung

Two Massachusetts jury duty stories: a guy in Boston received repeated jury duty summonses for his dog who was actually named Rover, apparently even taking the dog to the courthouse did nothing to keep him from receiving a threat to fine him for not showing up :wg:
A home owner who was building an annex to his house and had gotten building permits then got a jury summons for “Annex” and his last name:skeptic:
This is soooo ridiculous! The lengths that people have to go to to actually get their right name on things, then this nonsense!

The Dutch have some wonderful words, I worked with someone from Holland and loved learning new words. I just learned this one. My co-worker used to use "uitwaaien" - he actually went outside and did it when things get very stressful. I think I need to move to Holland!

I need a uitwaaien and a koekentroost!

Mmmm, I don't know. I'm aware of identical twins who will often say some phrases at the same time, and they often have very similar brains and speaking patterns, but this is next level and I suspect in this particular case there is an aspect of it that is an act or put on. Clever, and still quite remarkable, but somewhat forced.

BTW, both the girls used to work with Steve Irwin when they were younger.

I'm a fraternal twin. According to our mother, when we were babies we had our own language. She said could not understand it but we understood each other perfectly and would have fairly lengthy conversations. Eventually we grew out of it & learned to speak English.

Went to my friend's farm this morning. Always good to see their boxer, Buck. It took him a couple visits to warm up to me but we're buddies now.

We went out to the barn to let their chickens out to roam. They are big! And the rooster is beautiful

The weather out here has been nothing but soggy with a side of severe weather chances. I think we got 4-5 inches in less than 6 hours yesterday. Even the locals were saying they had never seen so many washed out roads. Today is supposed to be calm. I’m hoping to check out the new open hours at the ceramics studio.

I’m in the process of making hexagon tiles to use as functional art. I can use the different glazes I have to paint them and then make a magnetic mosaic so I can change up the design and look at color combinations.

This article better explains things

Lacrosse game today in Yarmouth. The flood gates opened.

Broke up a play in front of his own net and took off with the ball down the sideline. Ran into a few defenders on the left wing and then made a perfect cross field pass into the slot running full speed.

Picked up a loose ball in the defensive end, had some room and took it. Cut into the slot, wound up and fired. Scored his first goal.

Then he did it again. Buzzer beater to end the third quarter for his second goal of the game. Similar play. When he is given any space to run, he’s gone. I’m so happy for him to finally have that confidence.

Played the entire game. Never subbed out. He was on defense for it all but he was the field general. It ruled

It made for an extremely easy lunch stop and drive home. Little guy is on cloud 9

Road trip up to Massachusetts tomorrow for an unexpected family funeral.
We are all meeting at Kowloon. Glad I get to go back before they close it.
Great send off for my uncle, a good time will be had.

I’m putting a roof on my pergola using corrugated panels - if anyone has some know-how hit me up I got a question

Ah f*** it I’ll ask it here

I’m doing a faceplate against the brick exterior - to that, I’m gonna install some angled brackets to run 2x4 slats down the length of the 12 foot pergola

What I wanna know is - are there pre-cast brackets that’ll have the angle I need (prob 5 degrees across the length of the roof)?

Right now I bought what appear to be ones you can fold to your angle needed but like - then won’t I have to annoyingly adjust for the same angle on each bracket?

Lastly, am I overthinking this? Because I do happen to be smoking a big ol fatty so
