OT - NO POLITICS Spring has sprung

Actually, helicopters do a thing called autorotate that allows the pilot to set it down in the case of engine failure. The rotors will turn due to air resistance, slowing the descent and allowing for control similar to a glide in an airplane. Doesn't help in this case, because the rotors fell off, but usually a pilot can survive a dead engine, if he can find a place to put it down.

Still couldn't get me in one at the point of a gun, but they are safer than they appear.
Yeah, there are probably thousands of flights a day all over the world with no issues.

Still, I'll just stick to watching Airwolf reruns lol

In 2025 you would think hotels would use fragrance free products for at least their hand soap. This freesia shit is just too much. I will definitely go buy a small hand soap when I run to Target tomorrow.

I will say that the Holiday Inn near Legacy Place is way better than the old, tired Dedham Hilton. If you're looking for a no frills place close to Boston that is right off 128, I recommend this place. Plenty of good restaurants are around as is CVS.

I never thought about this, but I guess it makes sense. Still seems insanely difficult to pull it off.

I’ve been playing the is it a cold or is it allergies game all week and I’m DONE WITH THIS

All helicopter pilots are trained in autorotation. The US Army even has an award for pilots/crews who successfully land an aircraft using autorotation in an emergency situation called the Broken Wing Award.

When you think about it, the slowed descent is just like the way a maple seed helicopters down to the ground. Taken straight from nature.

wtf I've also been living on the borderline. Add in a migraine here and there. I'm f***ing roasted by whatever the hell has been happening to my body. No bueno. 0/10 do not recommend.

I never had seasonal allergies until my mid-30s. It seems like they get a bit worse each year.

So, I’m attacking it from both sides and on a steady diet of claratin and mucinex

I met this fellow when I was working at CVS on the Newberry Street. He was a regular customer.

The first time I encountered him, I said, "You look like that fellow on the TV commercials for Jordan's Furniture."

"That's me."

The Schumann resonances are wild right now and the planetary energy is brutal. I didn't get a migraine, but it's usually common for me. The back and neck pain for me have been solidly gross.
everybody feel better!!

I have no idea what that means but it sounds like a possible explanation for yesterday. Woke up with a headache. Filled my belly and had 1000mg Tylenol. Loaded up on water. Some caffeine with lunch. Headache never left, and got worse around 4. Took 2 excedrin and continued to load up on water. Finally felt ok around 10pm, and asleep at midnight.

Yay anxiety and headaches!

I know you've suffered wit them for a while. I can relate
The Schumann Resonance is the electromagnetic energy between the earth and the ionosphere. Like the earth is against us too!! woof.

I have so many maple seeds in my back yard right now. When I was a kid my grandparents' driveway would get covered with them, and we'd grab handfuls and throw them in the air. It was fun.

I've never heard it described that way before, but you are exactly right!

I've flown in helicopters exactly 5 times in my military career.......and it was 5 times too many.

Helicopters don't fly.....they beat the air into submission.

Not if it's a "jet helicopter" :sarcasm:

Anxiety is the absolute pits.

That's interesting. Still won't get me in one, but it's good to know there is at least some sort of method for getting them down in case of emergency.

Tonight I did a very "home-ownery" thing (to me, anyway).... replaced a shower head. Took several tries, and it works, but there is still a small leak. Landlord is coming out tomorrow to fix it.

I ordered it off Amazon. Even has small high power jets on the back that you can turn on to help when cleaning the tub. Or remove skin from your legs. Whatever.

Looks like you guys are getting somewhat buried back home in New England. It's in the 20s here this morning in northern Kentucky though, not exactly spring feeling either.
