OT - NO POLITICS Spring has sprung

I used the grill coworker finished in the oven

Im still learning grilling and want to try other things like a brisket this year
I do want to get a grill/smoker this summer. Primarily I want to learn how to make sausages. But having a grill for burgers or chicken would be nice as well.

my buddy makes great brisket and ribs. He does it all from a friggin phone app with the smoker he has. its crazy.
We have two smokers and a grill. We've been using them endlessly this year. We've done tenderloin, ribs, steaks and chicken. Tenderloin is an all time fav. beyond words.

I have to say I prefer the chicken on the grill and didn't care for turkey in the smoker. I like my turkey to taste like turkey from my moms oven lol

I don't think we have a phone app for those, but the new meat thermometer has one. (fancy)

edit: I'm in trouble if I don't mention the 2 briskets also.

My kids got me this for Christmas and its fantastic. Great phone app too. Gonna get another one to leave at the condo down in Florida. Highly Recommended. Its actually 2 thermometers in one. It gives you meat temperature (silver section), as well as grill temperature (black section) on the same probe.

We had a nice visit with my brother this week. This is Zina, she was going to be given to the humane society by the owner who kept her in a cage in an apartment all day, every day, but my brother found out about her before that happened. When they first got her, she was scared of everything and wouldn't come to new people, and was so skinny her bones were sticking out. Now she is a super happy, friendly, wonderful part of the family. My brother has 6 acres and she loves to run and play.

Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin holds the first modern day dire wolf born in over 10,000 years —The Game of Thrones creator is a key advisor and investor in the de-extinction project that used ancient DNA and CRISPR to bring the species back.
Scientists at Colossal Biosciences edited gray wolf embryos with Direwolf coding, resulting in three pups with ancient traits. One is even named Khaleesi — Perhaps they’ll star in a future production?…

I love a good mimosa on my flight but a full can of prosecco and a dash of oj is just too much at 7:30am.

The flight attendant wasn’t too happy giving me the can of oj and then me dumping the cup into the can.

I’m from Boston. I’m not going to be proper this early in the morning.

A dash of OJ is the perfect mimosa ratio at all times of day!

I just invited my mom over for Easter morning mimosas. She said she would drop off my Easter basket early, as there's something in there that may come in handy....aka a bottle of bubbly.
Your mom knows how to do it. :) my mom only partakes at Christmas

I'm not sure if you were at Sullys the night she did a shot of Crown because we told her she wouldn't do it. That had to be a solid 15 years ago. She's slowed down a lot, but she still enjoys a mimosa and a beer socially.

The Bunny will also be bringing Claratin. Very useful Bunny I have.

I want to say yes but I definitely heard about it. My mom will have a beer or wine at home but rarely has a beer out anymore.

Bubbly and Claritin are solid gifts.

Spring is not able to spring this year. It has been much colder than usual, it looks like Christmas snow out there today. We have had two False Springs so far with another coming in a couple of days, then back to flurries in the forecast.

It’s pretty, I guess. But I’m dying to get the garden started, so I’ll keep my zone 6!

:eek3:

I've never seen the rotors completely separate in mid air :help:

Horrible. And really bizarre. And another example of why I will never get in a helicopter. At least with a fixed wing plane, if it has an engine fault or takes some moderate damage, there's still a chance, however small in reality, that the pilot can get it down more or less safely and intact. If a chopper has a failure, it's done. Game over. No thanks.

Actually, helicopters do a thing called autorotate that allows the pilot to set it down in the case of engine failure. The rotors will turn due to air resistance, slowing the descent and allowing for control similar to a glide in an airplane. Doesn't help in this case, because the rotors fell off, but usually a pilot can survive a dead engine, if he can find a place to put it down.

Still couldn't get me in one at the point of a gun, but they are safer than they appear.
