OT - NO POLITICS Spring has sprung

Yeah i was an hour away, now I’m 15 minutes. I put the twins on the bus and pick all 3 of them up from school almost every day. Soccer Monday and Wednesday. Karate Tuesday and Thursday. Lacrosse Wednesday and Friday. Soccer games Saturday. Lacrosse games Sunday. I’m so f***ing busy but I’m loving it.

One of our cars has run flats and no spare. I hate that they sell cars without spares now.
Nice

Spring is nuts here too. My daughter started track with the middle school so now sports for her are at 3pm which is nice. But we have baseball Tu/Thur, Track meets Wed, Sat. I heard they are loooong. We shall see.

Happy National Burrito Day

Took a vacation day yesterday to handle business. I owe the state 60 bucks and our Federal Overlords owe me 1250. 2024was my first year as a landlord so it was a little tricky, but everything came out ok I suppose. As close to net zero as I could possibly be, all things considered.

Stopped to get another quote for a shed. Looks like we are going with Rhino Sheds in Middleborough. We started off not wanting to spend more than 5k or so, but then once we saw the quality of the Lowes/Home Depot sheds we decided to up the budget and get something more legitimate, and also increased size of it by %30. I think we will be right around the 8k mark once it's all said and done.

Had a super romantic lunch date at a quaint little joint in West Bridgewater called Market Basket. Seriously, why was that the best steak and cheese that I've ever had? It was only 7 bucks!

Took the twins to soccer practice. Then immediately took them to lacrosse practice. Chaos. Only one plays lacrosse so I spent that time out on the field kicking a soccer ball around with the other. I'm hurting today.

Got home and found out that I have a flat tire. Honestly not too upset about it because they are the factory tires and have 60k on them. Still, a little annoying when I file a tax return and then between what I paid to have them prepared and now the tires...my refund is gone before I even walked through the door.

Left the house yesterday at 745am. Got home at 930pm. It was a good day!
great crab rangoons at Market Basket too

As a veteran attendee of track meets I can confirm this. You can wait the better part of an afternoon before your daughter's event takes place. My niece did multiple events but there was still quite a bit of waiting between heats & finals.

Not to mention the track meets likely aren't all that exciting from a spectators perspective.

It's gotta be better than cheerleading. I am happy we have moved on from that one. It was good for my daughter for a while. Helped with confidence and making friends, but it started to get a little too nasty at the end last season.

Track hits all the right buttons. Good for promoting exercise and healthy habits. They get a little bit of a team aspect and a little bit of individual spotlight at times. I hope you guys love it!

This is gonna sound really strange but I think their sushi is usually well above average also.

Yea, I was 100% not a runner but the middle/high school here has a good running program. Great XC course and though no track, they have won a few state championships. Kids all seem very supportive since only the top so many scores count. Seems to attract the more academically inclined students as well.

Also, very easy sport to get recruited for opposed to the team sports. Don't expect my kids to get recruited but our friends son went to from not thinking about it, to getting really good fast, sent his times to some coaches, and got into Williams. No travel teams, showcases, etc.

Their Cross Country coach used to say track is the penance parents pay for quick cross county races.
