Stupid question bc nothing in my instructions say what to eat and what not. Can I put a teaspoon of garlic powder and onion powder in the broth for my very bland crockpot chicken? My colonoscopy is on Thursday. I’m fine just need to have one earlier due to what they think is a side effect from my kidney stone 3 years ago. I was in the hospital for 3 days and my kidney function went to hell and I was hours from needing a stent put in.

I am curious about taking marine collagen for joint pain and skin health - has anyone tried it?
I tried it from Vital Protein and it was too harsh on my stomach so I switched to taking an egg shell based collagen pill until the company, care/of went out of business. Now I just take Target’s multivitamin for Women(basically Centum Women) and it has collegen included.

I definitely felt less creaky and there was no new arthritis in my back between October 2022-April 2024. I’d say it helps already weakened joints but whether it prevents issues, that’s for science to determine :)

I was told nothing could be added.

Don't go by anyone in here. Call them and ask.

A word of caution from a dummy (read: me) who didn’t follow the instructions to the letter: I had to go back again a year later and they put me on a 48 hour prep to make sure it worked. I was practically having food hallucinations by the end of it, and it wasn’t fun. Definitely call and ask if you need clarification!

I called and they said that I am fine to add it and eat it today but tomorrow I will be liquids only. The lady was super nice and I could tell they get calls like this all the time.

My instructions said a bland diet for a few days prior to prep day and aside from the whole no red and purple drinks and milk the day before, there were no other food restrictions listed. My GI Doctor has every patient take Miralax 2x a day for 3-5 days before the procedure to make sure things work. I'm sure I'll feel differently tomorrow but aside from some slight irritation, I feel pretty good.

The handheld wand in the shower snapped and separated from the hose. Upon inspection, the wand attaches to the metal threaded hose portion with plastic threads in the wand. Water is cold, hot, high pressure, I'm thinking thin plastic threads aren't the best choice.

The hose and the wand were part of a matching Symmons set, $350 for all of it. I can't buy replacement wands through Symmons, naturally.

I was going to try some plastic weld, but there isn't enough plastic thread left to get a good bite into the hose. I can't replace just the wand, it doesn't exist.

At this point I think my options are to buy a new matching set for $350, or bring the wand to Lowe's and attempt to find something as close to Symmons Satin Nickel as possible, and probably still spend 100 bucks.

It's only 6 months old and I've probably used it twice!

Got this one last summer and love it. Very high quality, metal threads and all of the height/angle adjustments are notched so the gooseneck is fully supported. The handle thread is nylon and shows no signs of issues even with our extremely heavy/calcified water out here. None of the connections leak and didnt have to teflon tape any of them except the main connection to the shower pipe

Thanks! I might try the brushed nickel version of something like this to see how it matches to what I have. It's a very low ceiling stall, and the main shower head has very little clearance, so I'm not looking to change up the overhead unit. Just the pesky handheld wand.

Hard to tell with the photos, but the finish LOOKS pretty damn close to what I have.

Update to this!

Chatted with a friend of mine who is big into 3d printing. It might be possible to craft a replacement thread insert, but I don't trust that it wouldn't leak. We were considering it.

Contacted Symmons. They are sending a replacement. No questions asked. I'm floored.

Ugh plastic threading into metal is the worst. I had it on my dishwasher and couldnt get the thing to tread right. silver lining is there was no question when that MF was leaking. It was not a slow drip.

I'm lucky, my two favorite teams, the Bruins and BU, have great jersey sets. What I'm hoping for in upcoming seasons is that the B's roll out the meth bear blacks(gold socks and all) as a third sweater. I have a black #77 in my closet and it looks sharp as hell.
